**spoilers**

in Mass Effect Evolution, Jack something (TIM) was trying to push his friend out of the energy field from a Reaper booby trap like the one we used to find in some me1 side mission (and me2 as well). Ben (the guy that got too close to the trap) was transformed into a husk, but TIM was left out with a concussion and only light cybernetics from what I believe (explaining the glowing eyes). Seriously you guys should check out the Evolution comics, they're pretty awesome :P

I saw a page from that comic on the Mass Effect wikia, showing that scene.  So his eyes are cybernetics?  How did they find the Reaper device anyway?

I'll just say the eyes are Turian made, like Saren's.

I dunno about spoilers for the comics in this forum, so I'll wait before I say more.

They're not Turian eyes, they were changed when he tried to save Ben when they found the Reaper artifact....right?

Well, I was under the impression that his natural eyes were severely damaged. And his eyes in ME2 are prosthetics of standard Turian design, but I can easily be wrong with that impression.

They look like some kind of cybernetics.

Yeah I think it's the same kind of cybernetics present in a husk (blue flashing tubes and stuff). So basically I think TIM is a husk that didn't quite make it maybe, so he has minor cybernetics like in the eyes

Maybe it gives him some sort of special abilitities?

To a small degree, go read it.

I think he's a human reaper. Like the one you kill at the end mission. You really huge i think. You are never in the same room with him, so each time you "talk" to the illusive man shepard is made bigger.

Then why is Miranda the same size as him when she is with him in the beginning of the game?....Duh... And ruleonecardio, explain the what powers it gives him, or send me a message explaining.

i think they may be signs of reaper indoctrination, like sarens eyes. because in mass effect evolution, he gets to close to a reaper artifact, which set him into the first stages of indoctrination, thus explaining the eyes, since husks also have them.

IMO he's basically indoctrinated by the reapers even before you start Mass Effect 2.

1. He sends you to a trap where you could've gotten yourself killed.
2. Asks you not to destroy the reaper.
3. The whole idea behind recruiting the best people is so that the reapers can kill all of them at once and not worry about one of them trying to stop them in the future.

Also, I don't think the Illusive Man is a human at all but that's just me.

No he wasn't indoctrinated, his mind was his own. If you read the books and the comic the personality matches the one he had in ME2.

When Shepard goes full Renegade the cybernetic replacements can easily be seen, and except for color match the Illusive Man's eyes. They're just replacements - TIM is not indoctrinated (that we know of).

Why do you think though he decides to betray you in Mass Effect 3? I remember in the demo Commander Shepard mentioned something about indoctrination when fighting Cerberus Assault Troopers.

In Mass Effect Evolution he gets close to a turian artifact, similar to the way Shepard comes in contact with the Prothean Beacon. The Illusive Man's friend (Ben, I believe it was?) basically gets turned into a Husk (well, not exactly, you'd just have to read it), TIM tried to save his friend, and in the process also gets touched by the field or whatever, turning his eyes that blue color. I believe at some point in the comic they change back to his normal eye color, but I think he gets riled up about something and they turn back to blue. I could be mistaken, though.

Even though he came in contact with the artifact it wasn't enough to indoctrinate him (well...as far as we know...)

As far as Shepard's full renegade eyes, I believe that those are implants...due to...yeah...you know if you've played it, haha.

Why the hell would his buddy be turned into a husk by Turian tech?

I do agree with the dudes who think he's indoctrinated, at least partially. It doesn't necessarily change base ehaviour, as Saren was pretty much the same. It makes you subconsciously make pro-reaper decisions.
It also explains why Cerberus is attacking Sheploo in ME3 vids.
