Alexandra in Eternal Darkness (voiced by Jennifer Hale, in fact).  The Boss and Eva in MGS3.  All I got at the moment, and most aren't main characters (or even playable characters).

Sonya in Ninja Gaiden 2, but that is just, ehh... "oversexualized" we could say. The doctor chick form Vanquish, Jill valentine is dyed blonde in RE5 (which was stupid IMO, she looks better with brown hair), and we could say Lighting from XXIII (I got the number right?Sorry not a very FF fan myself) is blonde although she's more like "whitie".

Oh and also the police from Silent Hill.

Again, not main characters....

To be fair, main characters who are girls are pretty darn hard to find to begin with. But you guys are missing the other big one besides Samus:

Aya Brea, from the Parasite Eve series.

I listed a bunch of non-blonde female main characters earlier in the thread. I'm not sure what the grand total would be, but things seem pretty balanced to me. If anything, I think blondes are more common in Japanese games than American games, but I could be way off.

Yes, but a Dead or Alive character was not one of the choices (and that assumes that  characters from Dead or Alive are generally considered attractive...bleh. Sexualized, yes. Attractive... ). All the choices to a certain degree fit in Mass Effect, so in my opinion it was simply a matter of picking which Shepard you thought looked the best. Beauty is subjective so of course people disagree. 

I'm all for not sexualizing the game, but I don't think any of the choices gave me the impression that they were going for sex-appeal. That, and I'm pretty sure that wasn't the point you were arguing for.

Apparently it is a big deal for many. But hey, this is BSN, after all...  I chose the minority vote (#6), but in the end I don't really care, as long as I get the option of changing the hair style on one or some of my many ME2 FemShep imports.

I disagree with the OP. I voted for FemShep 5 because I thought she looked the toughest, most capable, and the best leader. I do not see her as a "Barbie" Shepard, and honestly I find some of the assumptions thrown around about blonde people during this whole vote quite offensive. (I am a brunette, for the record.)

EDIT:  For those commenting that the faces are all the same, a different shape or colour of hair can change the sense of proportion one gets of the face.  I can't fully explain why, but when I looked at the pictures it seemed to me as if all the other Shepards were squinting and frowning, trying to look badass.  Shepard Five just was badass.  Something about the proportions just clicked - they suited the expression so well. 

At the same time, I recognise that this is a personal thing.  One of my best friends said that his feelings about Four mirror mine about Five exactly, so I guess his sense of what proportions look best is a little different.  To me, Four looked like she'd just stepped out of the salon and seemed like she was the frowniest and least badass, but to him Five looked just as frowny-squinty as the others did to me.

And this is what I cant thank you enough for doing.    A lot of us gave our suggestions to David via twitter, but it only picked up a small fragment of what people liked and its still very hard to gauge.


It was nice the fans had an influence on her looks.  I know not everyone is happy.  But then again not everyone would be happy if you created your own and said it was default. Everyone has an opinion.  Yet it was still nice to have the option to contribute to her look.  Even if my #2 is near the bottom!  They all still all look the part and its trivial in the end.


If you do read this post by any chance Chris can you tell me if all these femsheps were created by one designer or was it a group effort?

Aside from that though, wasn't the choosing of shep only for the upcoming trailer? I am hoping all of these sheps make it into the "default" sheps category. You know the one where you scroll through the premade faces in custom.

Nah.

Blondie(as I affectionately call #5, my pick) is going to be in a trailer, be on the back cover of the Collector's Edition tin case, and will be a high-res default model available in ME3, similar to VanderShep.

Basically, she'll be used in all FemShep marketing, but it goes beyond that as she'll be in game as well.

And again, just to remind anyone reading this-

JaneShep, the default from ME1 and ME2, will still be available as a choice in game.
