And I'm willing to concede that maybe 25% of the voters were men and women who said "hey, that femshep looks like me/ my sister/ mom/ g/f / wife/ whatever!  Awesome!" and voted for her.

How 'bout you just concede that your statistics are completely made-up and that you don't actually have much knowledge to speak of regarding who exactly voted for her and why they did so? Your guesses are, in reality, very poorly educated.

mind explaining how scrapping a tiny feature that probably takes .00000000001 mb of space gonna help give you more planets and missions?

You're forgetting the voice acting.  Not that that eats a tremendous amount of disk space.  Femshep's audio uses all of 108 MiB (though the data itself is only 98.8 MiB) on the PC, and that's including ALL the DLC.  The PLC might have better luck arguing in terms of how much of the budget is expended on producing the material required for Femshep, but since we have little data on that front, much less any reason to expect those resources would have been automagically converted into other content rather than just not being expended at all, I don't see a lot of success forthcoming from taking that tack.

I voted for it for the longer hair. I'm not really digging the whole blonde thing, though. I'd prefer auburn-ish brown-ish.

Well yeah I wanted black shep to win, but I knew she wasn't going to, but am I pissed that blondie won? Not at all! I think she looks pretty awesome. The point I think the OP was trying to make was that it's sad that it was so predictable from the get go. Blondes are usually the standard of beauty, which is why so many people are resentful towards her. Some just wanted something different.

Okay, that's fine.  As I've stated before, this is what I think, an assumption I made, and maybe it'll make an ass out of me.  There's obviously no way to prove the hypothesis either way, but if you want argument over educated guesses, can you tell me why yours are better or even just better informed?

Eh the blonde shepard didn't win because was blonde or somehow the most hottest chick out of the bunch. She won because her hair was nice had a bit more of an agressive appearance and looked all around the more badass out of the lot. Now personally I picked #3 but it was mostly because I didn't necessarily like the hair color and wanted her to have a pony tail which appeared more military.

Bioware might as well keep the face and the hair style but modify it so she can look a bit older and her hair is black or brown. Red hair wouldn't look to great on her.

They should just release number five with all possible hair colors and see how the voting goes. I'd be surprised if red didn't win.

The voting is done. People should just let it go.

It was cool of Bioware to even let us vote instead of just saying, "here she is."

That's what they should have done in the first place. I really don't doubt their will still be complaints but their wouldn't be as many.

No I don't want another vote. People will just complain no matter what happens. If 5 wasn't winning now people would be complaining about which ever one was. People will complain for the sheer fun of complaining. They will ****** and moan just to pass the time. Leave her the way she is. I just want the trailer for femshep asap. If you do not like 5 don't use her.

Actually, it's not done.  Not that that makes pitching e-fits over it any more effective.

They put up on the mass effect facebook today that it wasn't final and that they haven't announced the winner. Though I don't really see it turning around, 5 is over 30,000 votes with 4 being the closest at only 12,000. But it was very cool of them to let us vote.

edit - oh didy bet me to it

Ah- sooooooo, you simply stated that mine are bad, wrong and trite, but didn't have any alternatives to offer or reasons for the fact that my guesses on voter content and reasoning are less valid than the guesses of the posters here whose opinion opposes mine?  Sorry, that was another assumption on my part.
Okay, so why are you even here?  If you just read my post, got angry and decided I was an idiot without considering that I may have a valid point, why didn't you just PM me and say "I think you're an idiot."  Your initial comment led me to believe you wanted to try and change my opinion or at least debate it rationally.

 I'm just thinking of the turmoil that James Vega received when he was revealed.
You're right. People will continue to complain either way.

I like how people are maoning their asses out that FemShep now looks like a barbie compleatly ignoring the fact that Sheploo is face modeled after a model. Obviously he should be face modeled after a vietnam war veterain or a randomly picked marine from Iraq. CHANGE IT BIOWARE BEACUASE I DEMAND IT!

It's funny to see how people are so butthurt. Even PCGamer posted a hilarious article against blonde Shepard a while ago:

http://www.pcgamer.c...-blonde-shepard

I't just hilarious.

Wow that is crazy. I am glad i do not read PCgamer if that is the type of writters they have. It is pretty sad how angry and anti-blonde hair the writter is. She even posts a pic of #2 which has almost the exact same face the only difference is the hair.

I know right? And she says "vote for diversity! Not the blonde!", It's funny how she mentions diversity when the fact is: of the 6 pictures, 4 have black hair, one is blonde and the other is redheaded. So yeah, blonde it's not diversity right?...

And actually they do have slightly different faces, it's just from the pictures on Facebook it's hard to tell. Still, they have very similar facial structure, with small variations on the lips, nose, and makeup (and obviously skin tone and hair).

Here you have a gif comparing closeups of #4 and #6. They loook similar, but they have differences.

This is why I didn't bother voting... It looked like I was voting for the hair.  None of this matters I'm playing my custom sheps and this doesn't affect me in the slightest... its just marketing.

No.  My point was simply "Bogus statistics are bogus, and shouldn't be trotted out as if they actually mean anything."  And why do you assume I'm angry?

Forget the color. The style is what won it. The others were ridiculously ugly or ridiculously over-groomed. People don't want femshep looking like a gym teacher or some powder puff working at a dress store. There was only one decent option, and if they had offered that option in a color besides blonde, it may well have won, but they didn't.
