Why do people care anyway. Ingame Femshep will never look like that. seems like a "hey look, something cool you'll never have" to me.

Seems like a lie to put this oversexualized hottie (all of them really) as the true Femshep in the trailer when ingame Femshep can never look like that. All ME3 has isbetter hair.

Of this magnitude of butthurt and whining?

Yup, it's the same everywhere wherever people are passionate about the subject. Be it sports forum, be it pop idol forum, be it comic forum, be it gaming forum. Whining is part of every fandom, exactly on the same scale.

No kidding.. you should see the amount of butthurt over a free DLC Rockstar promised for RDR a couple months ago.

You know, I still think if they went and put all of these Shepards in the game, they would look a bit different compared to the drawings. They really are QUITE similar in facial features, even if the differences are there. Human faces don't have a huge degree of variance, it is all of our features added up that make us look different, and there's things like the shape of the lips and eyebrows that are almost so similar that I think these aren't even the final versions.

How 'bout you just concede that your statistics are completely made-up and that you don't actually have much knowledge to speak of regarding who exactly voted for her and why they did so? Your guesses are, in reality, very poorly educated.

Ah- this ^ sounded angry.  But, it is infamously hard to read forum post intent if the little smiley icons are not present, so, my bad.
My real question is- Why do you think this is poorly educated, for instance and not the numerous "most people voted for her hairstyle, not the pale skin/ blonde coloring" posts?
I thought I was pretty clear with my intentions- 25% was a guesstimated figure based on the released player demographics and the guesses about gender and age that were derived therefrom.  I don't recall stating anywhere that it was a "set in stone" number, or some sort of official demographic.
Maybe it would have been a bit better if I said "I'm willing to concede that SOME (although I can't imagine it was more than a quarter of voters) said "hey, that femshep looks like me/ my sister/ mom/ g/f / wife/ whatever! Awesome!" and voted for her.

To sum it up...

People voted for a blonde over all the non-blondes by a very large margin for no other reason than that the blonde is blonde. Therefore, those people are all racist. So we must hate blonde femshep, the poster girl for the neo-**** movement. The end.

Posted Image

A large percentage of the people voting for the blonde femshep stated that they were voting more for the hair style and less for the actual color.

Link / source or that didn't happen. :wizard:

I like your percentages taken out from nowhere. Oh you asked every person and did the percentage? Doubt it.

Also:
http://social.biowar...9/polls/22889/`

They're actually not as far apart as the percentages suggest. There's 60 votes to keep it the same, and there's 11 + 26 + 5 + 4 = 46 that want it to be another color, and there's 4 people that don't care.

Just found out about this poll, and I have to say: why is it on bloody Facebook? Bioware made a ME3 website, Bioware made this social network, why not use it? Boggles the mind.

And why not just go with the "default" female Shepard? These six don't look believable at all to me, considering that Shepard was a decorated veteran even at the start of the first game. They're too young, too "perfect". At least the "default" female Shepard doesn't look like a kid fresh from bootcamp.

I agree with this. I don't care about the color of her hair - I care about how young she looks. Could they not come up with designs that were age appropriate? She looks ridiculous next to the default M!Shep.

I don't like blonde 5, but it's still better than than 4. How can she be expected to target anything with one eye covered by hair..?! I feel like ANY OTHERS than 5 & 4 (the winner and runner-up) would have made sense to me. FemShep is a military woman, not a freakin' mannequin, and she should be practical, not vapidly 'pretty' in a conventional way. That's not to say she's not allowed to be pretty, but she should still look pragmatic, strong, SAVIOUR OF THE GALAXY-ISH rather than like the only thing she battles is the horror of breaking a nail or the wrong shade of lip gloss.

 I'm just thinking of the turmoil that James Vega received when he was revealed.
You're right. People will continue to complain either way.

Poor James. We barely know a thing about the guy and already 98% of the ME fandom "hates" him, whilst the other 2% are still building consensus or just don't give a Vorcha's ass. I'm totally in the DGAVA party, btw. *does the Techno Turian Hustle* Doot, doodee, dodotoot, tootdoo, WHOOHOO!

Oh, right, the topic at hand. Knew there was a reason I came here. Am I bothered by blonde-haired, blue-eyed femShep? Nope. I used to be blonde-haired and blue-eyed myself, until my body decided it was bored and wanted to try something new; now I'm brown-haired and green-eyed. Wonder of wonders.

Anyway, I always customise my Sheps, so you won't find me bothered by this whole shabankwank. Certainly seems to bother a lot of other folks, though. So femShep's hair is blonde and her eyes blue. Who cares! Besides, there are far more important things to whine about, like 33 straight days of 100+ temps! *cries into a pillow* WHY, MAKER, WHY?!

Not a big fan of 4 or 5. I am in love with 6 though, the one with the least amount of votes I believe.

Hopefully all the haircuts make it into the game though.

Especially 6.

Huh. Apparently, I missed the memo that you can no longer customize the look of your female Shepard, and that her personality has undergone a sudden shift to accompany her default look. This is terrible! I can't play any of my other FemSheps anymore, since their existence has been erased by the emergence of default FemShep! Why, Bioware, why? Why have you crushed my dreams so?

...OK, seriously, I'll admit that I voted for #5, but I would have been perfectly happy with any of the others, too. I just liked her hairstyle a bit more (would've preferred red hair, but black would've been nice, too). Did a lot of people vote for #5 because they thought she was pretty? Probably, but what's inherently wrong with that? This was a popularity contest. In fact, what's wrong with FemShep being attractive? It's in no way related to whether or not she's a strong character or whether or not she kicks butt. Who knows, maybe it's just my own personal bias... since all of my blonde FemSheps are cold-hearted Renegades...

I'll never understand the "OMG she's too attractive, she looks like a model" complaints either. Apparently it's wrong to be attractive female in video games. Yet everyone forgets that Sheploo faced is also rendered from a male model.

Well yeah I wanted black shep to win, but I knew she wasn't going to, but am I pissed that blondie won? Not at all! I think she looks pretty awesome. The point I think the OP was trying to make was that it's sad that it was so predictable from the get go. Blondes are usually the standard of beauty, which is why so many people are resentful towards her. Some just wanted something different.

How is a white Shepard with a fake spray tan a black woman?

She's automatically "Combat Barbie" because she's blond? Funny that people accuse others of judging on looks and ignorantly shallow, when they assume all blondes are dumb superficial ditzes. Its not like Shep 5 has any more makeup than the other Sheps.

I mean...I have my own FemShep, so I couldn't care less about the look BW gives me for her. Also (while not ME but) my canon Warden is blond too and she seriously kicks ass.

been reading it and its mostly 22 pages of everyone complaining about the OP complaing that shep is blonde.

yeah because sheploo isn't based on a real life model or anything.

The funny thing about the whole combat barbie as some like to call it is that these people act like any blonde Shepard that is created a different voice actresses will be used such as Paris Hilton ,different conversation choices where they will all sound like something a valley girl would say, different armor with a ton of skin and cleavage showing, and other changes.

She has the best hair out of them as far as shape.  I think it was unfair that they have three very short cuts and none of the more popular in game midway to the shoulder style.  I like my Shep's to have messy hair, since they are constantly fighting.  As for color, I like red or black, personally.

Blonde doesn't make much sense, as in the books, it's said that naturally blonde hair is all but gone, I guess Shep dyes it?

Model or not, he's still allowed to have a face that gets creased up when he scowls LIKE AN ACTUAL HUMAN FACE, unlike any of these ladies.

And again, I'll keep saying it, the "blonde hair dies out" idea is just silly. It wouldn't happen.
