She's awesome. Too bad they never managed to give her proper persona. I should try Metroid other M and see what people are whining about so much. I doubt it's THAT bad. Thou Team Ninja has never been really good at writing stories to their games.

Wasn't my favourite, but I still don't mind it. Regardless - ITS A DEFAULT SHEP - its far easier to make a wide variety of good looking female sheps through the custom character screen, be thankful it isn't voting on a default bloke, because its hell hard to make a good looking bloke in the custom screen.

1) she was reasonably attractive
2) she looks credible as a soldier
3) she does #1 and #2 without coming off with a ballbuster appearance
To be fair, some of the other ones did these things, but blonde FemShep did them the best.

I didn't hate the looks of the character, (Here's the selection, for anyone who hasn't already seen it.) and I thought it was pretty cool that Bioware let the fans help pick the design, but I can't help feeling just a tad disappointed in us, the community. Really guys?* They offered us one Combat Barbie amid 6 women (all of whom seemed to look a lot younger than shep's 29-31 yrs depending on how you view the timeline, but hey, that's Hollywood baby) and we went with the Barbie? Granted, the tousled hairdo was cool and seemed to fit the Shep persona, and most of us femShepers will probably continue using our custom designs anyway, but it's still a small blow to see a gaming company struggling to make strides in acceptance and inclusiveness feature a typical and cliched version of feminine strength and heroism. Thanks for trying Bioware, but apparantly, we're not ready for that kind of responsibility yet. Maybe you should've started us off with a goldfish, saw how we did with that, and went from there.
Then again... maybe I'm just bitter that my choice was shot down...
*guys is being used here to encompass all genders, fyi
as I recall there are barbies with dark hair too.....blonde =/= (or !=) barbie.

Just to point out if Bioware created their own appearance for her, which most likely will be based on the lines of one of those six anyway, do you really think discussions on her appearance would not happen?
Why assume that everyone will be happy with whatever they create. You wont be able to please everyone thus it was inevitable that some people will say they are not happy. At least here Bioware has given us the choice.
Just because your unhappy with how blonde femshep looks, that doesnt mean everyone elses opinion is wrong.

From what I saw of the results, the Failbook poll was even more skewed than the one here.
Just saw this and I had to comment since I had a similar argument with someone about Metacritic user reviews of Dragon Age 2 yesterday. Now bear with me for a second.
I did the math based on total number of meta-critic user reviews versus the estimated number of sales of Dragon Age 2. Know what I found?
.0039% of people who bought Dragon Age 2 took the time to review it on meta-critic.
What's the point you ask? The point is that the kind of people who write reviews on meta-critic are the same kinds of people who post here.
Facebook isn't skewed. This forum is. Deal with it
Did you bother reading my edit underneath, stating I must have seen early results, not final, and thus admitted to a mistake? If you did, did you comprehend it?
Obviously not, as you decided to cherrypick, and quote out of context.

Barbie won because of the Facebook "I have no idea what Mass Effect is, I dont play games, but I've been asked for my (otherwise worthless) opinion, and she looks just Squee" effect.
I just want to see stats on ME3 comparing the number of votes tallied from Failbook, to the amount of famsheps played in total, irrespective of which face is used. Willing to bet my left teste theres a huge discrepency.
The poll started on BSN was nearly identical to the Facebook poll...soooooooooooooooooooooo

Did you even bother reading further down the forum, or did you just read to the second post, and then decide to jump in and make a complete idiot out of yourself without realising I had posted again?

How ****ing superficial can people be? Degrading something you've begged for in the course of many months on the count of their haircolor?
