People are still hating on her because she had blonde hair, she was the best looking Shep for a lot of people, and many of them like myself did not base the decision on hair color, for me it was the most appealing by having medium length hair with an actual likeable style, a bit tousled, most likely from wearing a helmet, but likeable. The opposition was three buzz cuts, pop star hair, or some weird bang hairstyle.

I am also tired of all these kids thinking she looks too young, 31 is not, I will repeat, "not", old.  Television and movies empIoying actors in their late 20's and sometimes early 30's to portray teens kind of makes it hard for a lot of people to actually be able to recognize age, and I know it doesnt help that Sheploo is modeled after a guy in his mid 40's to represent someone 31, but that is the male model that is not accurate, not femSheps.

I have to admit the voice for male shepard was a little to old for the character. Fem shep's voice was a bit old but Hale is awesome enough for me to accept it.

Since male Shep's default appearance is that of a model from the 90s, they should have had femshep by a model from the 90s! Like Cindy Crawford or something.

If a small minority want to moan and complain about petty things, then let them ruin the experience for themselves. Doesnt bother me and I think (like alot of people)  Bioware have done a great job.

That would be a great idea, and would definately make many folks happy (my favorite is Shepard #1). But the chances of Bioware doing something like that would probably be very slim to none at all though.

I've seen fan-made Shepards of all hair colors which I liked better than any of the posters, though I guess that would be too much trouble.

I don't think they're going to change the blonde hair despite the strong reactions. Sadly, I don't even expect they'll change her eyebrows or make her look the right age or give her a bit of extra muscle. I think #5 and indeed all the FemSheps would be less controversial/more appealing if they would go that route. She would look a lot less like the common Hollywood standard of beauty if she looked a bit more like a soldier in terms of body type. I know I'd feel a lot prouder to be a FemShep fan if the final version looked age-appropriate and strong enough to beat me in an arm-wrestling match, whatever her coloring.

Funny. The first game that popped into my mind was Resident Evil 5, where there are 2 protagonists. One, a white male that is hideously overcompensated in his muscles, and the second is an african woman looking good and kicking arse. The blonde woman in the game, however, is a former protagonist that was 'taken over' and subdued by the antagonist into being a mere puppet.

I think people have their minds set too much on their own made up beliefs to be able to see all the facets, really. Claiming that a minority is 'oppressed' in this day and age in the media is funny, in a sad way, especially when it is done in a way that is trying to opress others...

Non-blondes now trying to opress blondes? Seriously... Get over yourself...
And I'm saying this as a darkbrown haired guy.

I actually don't mind the overall design of blonde femshep...just wish she had red hair! Combine the overall look of blonde femshep w/red hair and you have a win for me!

oh noes typos!!  I missed a space and "n't" on couldn't.   Im suprised your still in this thread if bad grammar grinds your gears. Also your sig is poorly worded   



Anyway im fed up of blonde shep rants.  People will have said the same thing that she was too plain if they went for green-eyed, red haired shep.   Yeah it was a beauty contest.  But take pride in the fact you all had a choice! When does a game developer ever let the fanbase actually have such an active participation in something like this?!   Rarely to never!

You hate on the blonde shepard for being blonde, yet she is looking just as badass as Starbuck is. Playing her as a renegade shepard would make her attitude just as badass as starbuck too.

So your 'she's too pretty' seems pretty misplaced when you can be a fan of starbuck and hate on shepard.
