So I've wondered, since they announced for ME3 that if you cheated on you 1st game romance with a 2nd game one, you're gonna find yourself in some very hot water in 3rd one, whatever will it be.

So I'm wondering, since you can reignite romance with Liara via LotSB, could it be possible to avoid the backlash you'll get if you romance somebody else later?
I mean, at the end of the mission (before romancing anybody else), if you decide not to use the Paragon interrupt, that's that, you part way, but remain friends, would it work?

If you break off your romance with Liara in Lotsb and then romance someone else, I don't see a problem. If you do reaffirm your romance with Liara and cheat on her with another, expect some repercussions. Like being hit by a biotic field so hard, the rest of your Shepard will fit into a coffee cup./uploads_user/1070000/1069890/27999.gif

Well I know in LotSB Liara does have a choice where you can respond to her asking you about your new LI if you cheated on her since ME1... So maybe depending on how you reacted to her question will be how she responds to you and your LI in ME3...

I am curious to see how Tali and Liara will interact in ME3 if you chose to be with Tali over Liara and tell her your fighting for Tali to have a chance to see her Home World... After all they BOTH have had feelings for yah since ME1.

Chances are she probably never learn of what you did if you did anything sexual with Kelly, unlike a real Love Interest where it is pretty clear that your relationship has changed with them.

If you need to cheat on Liara, do it with Kelly and avoid dealing with two angry broads in ME3.

Don't worry, Bioware won't do anything that should make a difference

Most likely scenario is that they will find out about you affair and you will be forced to choose who to continue your relationship with. It won't be mentioned after that (unless Bioware pulls some kind of loyalty loss system for ME3 out of their butt, which I doubt will happen).

After you are forced to decide, then the spurned lover will continue being your friend and your affair will not be mentioned for the rest of the game.

EDIT:

/speculation of course, but it's very very likely to happen as the Mass Effect has a history of this sort of love triangle resolution, for example the ultimatum between the VS and Liara

Liara either has a very different perspective on sexuality and monogamy or a serious, serious lack of self-esteem. She repeatedly demonstrates that she doesn't care who or what else you do as long as you come back to her. Tell her you want Ash/Kaidan in ME1, she'll still ask if you don't want her too. Get to the love triangle confrontation, and it's the human LI who tells you to choose; say you don't want to, and the human walks off in disgust while Liara says "well, sucks for them. Thanks for not rejecting me, Shepard." Play LotSB after sleeping with one of the ME2 LIs and she'll take you back, no questions asked, despite her clear jealousy after the Vasir fight; shut her down for your new ME2 LI, and she'll say "okay. I get it. I'll just hope I can have you again someday."

It would be pretty out of character for her to object to a liaison with Kelly or even a serious romance, at least to the point of actually rejecting you.

 In LotSB it seems that the Liara romance was concluded (ether you dumped your ME2 romance to get back together with her, or you stay with your ME2 romance and leave her) so I doubt there will be much conflict in ME3. However if you did not do LotSB Liara still tracks down and finds the shadow broker, but I believe does it without Shep's assistance in the story, so if that's the case then the Liara romance has not been concluded and their might be a love triangle in ME3. Of course that's all speculation at this point still.

Yea I hope they dont have liara go all psycho in me3 if you do the whole lotsb thing, it seemed like a breakup to me. (minus the wanting shep back)

Actually, you can break it off with your ME2 LI, get back with Liara and then cheat on her with another member of the ME2 crew.  Or do the LotSB before going through the Omega-4 relay and when you go back to do the cabin scene, Liara acts like you've been with no one. 

And no, I don't think LotSB was created to avoid Liara backlash.  

All that is going to matter is that your ME1 LI picture is up or not.  It won't matter if it is Liara or the VS.  You can break it off with your ME2 LI if your were with Ash or Kaidan and have their picture come back up as well.
