The easiest way to make the game harder is to give them more health and armour. It makes the fights boring as hell, after the 90th time to duck behind cover while your powers recharge is insane, insanely boring... BAM!!!. Its why I don't usually go above veteran.

Making the AI smarter is too hard.

Insane means doing the same thing over and over.

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result :)

Only ever did Tali's recruitment mission on Insanity, for the rifle, only difference I found between that and Veteran was that things needed a couple of extra bullets to kill. The AI was just as predictable, there was no actual increase in overall difficulty.

Right, so they should just give the Insanity Achievement away, just like how they now give kids trophies because they participated, and didnt actually achieve anything.

No. You want the achievement, then you work for it. I want my Insanity run though to be a heart pounding, ball sweat raising, sphincter clenching headf**k to truly emulate the fact I have just conquered the game against all odds.
Cant handle Insanity difficulty? Then set it for a lower setting, or go buy a Wii and play Mario Kart.

This guy knows what's up.

Also that Dead Space 2 hardest difficulty was VERY necessary. Especially for the reward you get at the end. I actually never completed it myself, or tried for that matter, because other games came up and took my attention away. I REALLY wish I would've tried though. The thought of only have 3 saves and no checkpoints is exciting to think about. Why? Because beating it would make you feel like you actually accomplished something. I want a really hard challenge. I could understand if you wanted the devs to make the difficulty hard but not cheap (Collector ambush on Insanity I'm looking at YOU), but you're just QQ'ing about the difficulty itself.

Seriously, I hate these people that just want the game handed to them. If you want that play Casual and want to laugh at how stupid easy that is then go ahead. I play on Hardcore in ME because that's the right level of challenge for me. These people need to learn theirs. Honestly there are 5 difficulty settings, pick the one that offers the best level of difficulty for you, don't ask them to make the harder ones easier because you can't beat it, you obviously lack the skill to beat them. So go back to whatever difficulty you can handle and enjoy the game that way. The purpose of harder difficulties is to challenge the player, you don't want challenge then do the obvious and turn down the difficulty and let the rest of us enjoy clawing our eyes out at how damn hard the game can be.

However, I completely support fair difficulty not BS infini-respawning enemies that gun you down in one bullet while you have to empty a clip in them for them to die *cough* CoD4 Veteran *cough*. Soah, I can honestly tell you you didn't miss a whole lot in DS2's hardest difficulty, it was pretty easy once you got the hang of it but I never beat it cause I only ever rented DS2.

That is the problem with difficulty settings anyhow, most of the time all it does is make them better damage sponges instead of smarter enemies.

I want the hard difficulty to be really hard and the easy difficulty to be if I look at the enemy hard he keels over. Sometimes I play for challenging combat and sometimes I play to explore story.

Reasonable post. I agree that Insane should be really, really hard but also that the player should be able to adjust the difficulty to suit his skill level.

Hello, i played me1 and 2, and enjoyed playing ME2 in insane mode.It was hard but reasonable.

My request to developers is to make ME3 not too hard, i mean by that "please dont make it with a lame difficulty like in dead space 2".

Before buying a game i do three things.

_I read reviews of the game, and see if the game has a very good mark.I  generally buy only  AAA games to be sure to have a huge experience.

_I read comments about how hard the game is.Buying dead space 2 was a mistake, as i found difficulty too high.I do that assuming that buying or not buying a game has consequences on the future of video games and that my behaviour can kill what i call "difficulty mistakes".In my opinion, a game must aim 100% of people and being opened to everyone(this is not a troll its a "if i buy i i have right to finish the game" philosophy).

_A modern video game must not be too stressing, or then it must expect average sales.Want good sales for ME3?Kee the difficulty level of ME2, and keep makling dlc that will help the player to overcome problems.
I bought weapon packs, i used the geth shotgun,  i used the cerberus armor, the heavy pistol(dont remember the name),this helped me a bit.And kasumi and her super backstab attack helped me.

Dead space 2 was really frustrating, and no dlc to help you.

I don't really have a problem with the current difficulty set-up as long as "Insane" is really a challenge. Every gamer has their own idea of a perfect gaming experience. Some people like to explore environments and story while others prefer nosebleeds and nightsweats while playing. I'm somewhere in the middle as I enjoy action like the next guy but I also want to enjoy some of the RPG elements. My favorite game of all time is Romance of The 3 Kingdoms so I'm a bit complicated when it comes to these kinds of discussions.

The OP is retarded. I got all but 3 of the Achievements on casual. One of those was just due to me NG+ing too quickly. Those last two achievements are reserved for the hardcore gamer. It isn't compulsory to have all the Achievements, you know.
