OC is set up so you should start at first level, you can do whatever you want of course, but it does not seem like it would fair to yourself to already be 8th level, you probably will get bored until you get towards the end of the game. There are other modules you can play at 8th level, i think Misery Stone is around that level.

MoW is not related to the story of the OC, it assumes a new character.

Always amusing when someone comes in and gets belligerent with people who are trying to provide answers.
Aside from that, yes; what you want to do is possible.

I don't think the game is designed how you are talking about. ( don't think any game is for that matter ), but it's very hard to even understand your questions.
A module in progress is using a character and the only way to use that character in another module is to export it from the current "saved" game. If you do so you can resume that saved game at any time and use that character in any module you feel like.
If you were to stop the OC, and do MOW, you'd be able to go back to your saved game. However you'd not be able to effectively pause the OC and do MOW and come back to the OC with whatever things you found in MoW, you'd continue the OC right where you left off. I would suggest instead exporting your character at level 8 and doing the entire knight captain story which includes the OC and MOTB. After that you have your level 8 character. It does not really matter the order you do things, but you probably won't remember the quests and such you were doing if you pause the story in the middle, which is the only reason i suggest doing MOW after you are done with the OC and MOTB.
There are some things on the vault that let you edit saved games, and swap out characters. If you did that you'd be able to do whatever you want, but it's a bit of work, but if you did things correctly you could make whatever you wanted to happen.

So you want to start the OC, play until level 8. Then take that character throughout MoW, and when the character is done with MoW take the character back to where you left off in the OC. Correct?

yes, he finishes mow with his lvl 8 char and want to continue the oc with this character and without restarting. simple answer: nope, that's absolutely impossible. you can't import a character to a savegame and switch the pc - at least not that i know of.
perhaps with some gff editing you can change your oc pc and emulate the mow char. even if that's possible i don't think that you're able to do so.

There are ways to edit saved games.
A character editor does it, and i know folks in the community know a bit about it. ( discussion related to steam is here http://forums.steamp...d.php?t=1687827
and i_raps is discussing it here http://social.biowar...-3302532-1.html
Not sure if it's doable or not, but i know some folks are doing it. If you run into issues, and are polite, i am sure someone can help you if you run into problems.

You can definitely do it with editing. There is a learning curve, but if you're up to it:
I'm not familiar with MOW; if you have any items with unique abilities or the like, you would also have to copy their scripts into your Override folder.

well you can use a saved game - you would start when you left off
you can export your character from MOW or the OC and then import it by 'selecting character'
simple as pie, the export get put into the 'Local' folder. The export button is on the Main Menu when you hit 'esc' ingame
editing save game
building custom character with a builder module then importing
I just don't see why the question was so difficult to answer?

Yes, it's a fine way to start a module. And the only method which really makes sense for single player continuous NWN-style gameplay for me.
But using this method won't let him pause gameplay in one module (OC), switch to another, play through it and then go back to where he left the first module (OC).

Create a different character for MoW. The character you create for the OC is specifically for the OC and MotB.

Cuz Mow is a really great module/story. It's worth it.
Do it after the OC, MOTB, SOZ -- that way each one gets better as you proceed.

Most NWN or NWN2 modules are setup as standalone adventures. Your character doesn't just transfer from one mod to another, especially between savegames.
MoW is a very good, and well made module that is well worth your time, but it's really a separate experience from anything else. IMO you should play OC modules in this way:
- NWN2 OC - Level 1-18
- MotB - Level 18-30
- MoW - Level 8
- SoZ - Level 8-?

Actually SoZ is for new characters as well, I believe. And level 8 is MoW's starting level and, unless I'm mistaken, you end it somewhere around level 12-15?

MoW ends at 14-15. SoZ starts at 4 (no ECL).
