Hey.

Not sure if this is a bug or not, but I have completed the game once, and I had +100 approval on Leliana when I did so, so I remember she was talking quite alot. Now this time, I've had a few conversations with her, but then all the options disappeared. I have her at +80 approval (through gifts), but she still wont say anything. She won't even tell me stories, which I remember she could repeat a thousand times without sounding less excited about it.

I remember that I found her "special gift item" (that opens a dialogue) very early this time. However, when I gave it to her I had already had the conversation about the subject (trying to not spoil anything, sorry for the lame explanation). However, after that, she said nothing more. It's not really that much of an issue since I know everything about her, but I can't get her companion quest.

Anyone else experienced this?

iirc you should not give her gifts too much, and there is some correct responses when talking to her to initiate a relationship with her...

Well, not looking for a relationship with her, just wanted to get her companion quest but she there's no subjects to talk about. This happened while she was at pretty low approval, so I've been feeding her gifts.

Same problem. I raised her approval up to +65 through gifts and choices without ever talking to her about anything. At that point the only topic for discussion with her was "nevermind".

I have the exact same problem. Her approval with me is about 80+ but when I click to talk with her about something, there are no options. I cannot start her personal quest. I, personally have been playing around with the toolset a little, so could that be a problem?

Sorry for double post, but I deleted the single player folder and it did nothing, so I assume this bug is permanent until a patch? Just letting you guys know. It must be something to do with gift giving.

I havn't tested the toolset yet, and she won't talk to me anyway. She does talk with my other characters, however. I'm not sure if it is because I gave her "Andraste's Grace" too early, or something... This experience has given me a fear for giving my companions gifts... So far things works well with my new warrior.

Ok... I know I hit all the right buttons with her, got her to +100, but no romance NOR personal quest for her past. The sad thing is, she got feisty with me about Zev, and I dropped him for her and told her she was the only one... still nothing. Want my achievement for her! I am +100 with most of my companions, and the rest have all given quests and correct responses.

I gave her Andraste's Grace early, too. I think that might be the problem.

I didnt gave her adntraste's grace early. I gave it to her before she could even tell me about it. And I still have this bug

I have an entirely different bug, where even if she's joined my party, she isn't included when I select her! It's even worse when if you try to select her, then select other party members, I become unable to select them. Which is a huge shame, I wanted to get her on my current playthrough :c

I'm not sure if I'm following you. Did you give it to her before she told you about her mother? If that's the case, then you can't have had much approval with her, which means you gave her the flower early.

I had the same problem on my first playthrough. Gave her a lot of gifts over a very short time period, and for the last 40 or so hours of my 70 hour playthrough, she had absolutely no conversation options ("I want to talk to you about something" only gave the option "It was nothing. Never mind" or something to that effect). So, no personal quest, no romance, no nothing.

Yep I gave it it to her before she told me about her mother. And still nothing. I have her approval rating all the way up now and even have all her approval skills but she still won't "give it to me" so to speak. She won't even ask for a Nug Pet because she won't talk to me.

I believe it has to do with giving her too many gifts early. That seems to be a common occurence. Anyone figured out a way to reset this? It has to be through a script somewhere.

Hey, I know the topic's been pretty dead but I've been having troubles with this exact problem and I may have found the solution on the Dragon Age Wiki, in case anyone comes across this again:



" * One important dialogue option that leads to Leliana's background quest can be lost if you get her approval too high without talking to her. Therefore, do not simply shower Leliana with gifts -- talk to her and make sure you choose "I heard that in Orlais, minstrels are often spies" when that option appears. As her approval increases further, you can no longer ask it. Leliana's background quest requires her to first tell you a lie about her background, and then feel bad and come clean on it. If the question about spies disappears from the dialogue options before you ask it, you will never learn of Leliana's past and you will not get the quest to seek out her former bard master, Marjolaine. Using Feastday Gifts and Pranks is also a useful way to deal with this problem for those still encountering it.



Note: This has been fixed as of patch 1.02, but may have returned in 1.04. "
