Had the same issue before getting a 32" lcd.
i know this sounds harsh but they are very cheap to buy now either new or second hand.
Please no microscopic text.

I get so irritated with the small text size. Especially with the emails and codex entries. That and I tried to go on forums to complain about this one level where there's scions and harbingers (and it's bloody hard on insanity), and people hadn't a clue what I was talking about because my SDTV lead me to believe that scions were in fact called "scum". While the name is more suiting in my opinion, it's annoying that I couldn't even get the name of an enemy right because of the text size.

I had no problem with the text, but I have an HDTV. I've heard a lot of complaints with a lot of different modern games saying that the text is too small on SDTV. I've also heard several game companies say they don't have any plans on making the text more compatible for SDTVs because it would take too many resources for them to implement the different text for the different types of TVs. If this is true, I can see why they wouldn't....that being said, I honestly don't see what could be so difficult about adding an extra set of text options......
But, I'm not a programmer, so what do I know?

It's terrible and I have a fairly large TV (not HD). I'm on a fixed income, too, so buying an HD tv to support my gaming is not really an option. I have no idea what it takes, but I would love a two-text size option.

I have the same issue. Good thing we still have a ways until release, gives us the time to save for a better one.

Haha at least my struggle to read blurry letters entertained someone! Glad to be of service. I think they should change the name of them to scum in ME3 though. Really they pissed me off enough times that I wanted to call them worse things, but scum works.

I wear glasses too and can barely read it... trust me I tried adjusting the brightness and even swapped tvs.....the mission reports I don't even bother to try and read, but somehow I can read the codex

Aren't small HD TVs relatively cheap? I mean not DIRT cheap but nothing that would break the bank or a credit score...I really can't blame the devs for going HD all the way. They'd have to do it eventually.

I have rather good vision and even on my big SDTV the words are so hard to read in ME3 they should have the same text fount as ME1

I agree up those text sizes! I hate it I've got a regular TV, 20in flat, 40in flat and your text is all sized differently on each of them for the 20 and standard it's size 1 -3pt font on the 40 its 12pt which isn't bad but with my other two I can't read anything until I can get to the 40 and that's dumb I shouldn't have to switch TVs to figure out what my email, codex, and upgrades say!
