I agree with this, pretty much all of BW's most recent games have been eye-sores. I used to think it was just because I didn't have an HDTV but now I do, and I still can't read a damn thing.

If you're playing at 720p or above, you shouldn't have any problems reading text.

Yes, and the year 2011 has kind of a crappy economy and a pretty high unemployement rate. I'm not anti-HDTV or something. I, and many others, simply can't afford one at the moment but can still afford to play a game I've been looking forward to for awhile and enjoy some escapism while I look for better prospects. Why is this so hard to understand? Put yourself in someone elses shoes for a once. What do you make fun of homeless people for not getting with the times and getting a house?

I have HDTV and don't need glasses to watch TV.

That wasn't the issue, the issue was that the font size in ME2 was too small. ME1 was fine.

I could read the subtitles but it took some effort. Reading subtitles should come effortlessly, like with just about every foreign movie I've ever watched on the same TV.

I'm not sure why some of you are making an issue out of this by telling people to wear glasses or invest in HDTV. Does it really affect you in any way if Bioware increased the font size to say, ME1 levels?

I don't know, increasing font size just seems like a seamless improvement,if you're on HDTV you effectively won't even be affected, increasing the font just a tad doesn't really seem like too much of a faff...

Funny, I got glasses and still I can see perfectly what the texts say from 6 meters away.
And my HDTV set is 32'.

Good for you.

Again, how does increasing font size to ME1 levels affect you negatively?

I used to have a crap SDTV and struggled to read text in most games. ME2 was especially bad.

Now I just got a 40" LCD and it is GLORIOUS. I still don't see why we can't increase font size, however.

To those still stuck with garbage SD; HDTVs are extremely cheap. I am a completely broke 25 year old living paycheck to paycheck and I was able to get one easily. 400$ at best buy, paying it off over 6 months. That's around 65$ a month. AKA i go out to dinner/the bar one or two times less per month than I normally would. That is not much of sacrifice. And man is it worth it. ME2 looks like a completely different game, along with all my other games, not to mention tv and movies. Just pony up 300-500 bucks, depending on what size TV you want. It's not that much.

Shhhhh, people here have to state whatever comes outta their mind, without thinking about it deeply.

Anyway, folks, I have a 19 inch HDready TV and I can't see the damn text from two meters away.

Guess it doesn't. But just saying, you should be able to read it clearly.

Wouldn't mind if they would increase font size, thou. So yeah, I'm with you.

Here where I live, houses are quite a bit more expensive than TVs.

You're telling Bioware to fix something that works perfectly fine for the majority of people.

We should just tell all the starving children in Africa to buy food and stop getting diseases because that works for the rest of us.

Part of the problem that some may be having with reading the text on HD tv's may lie in how they are connecting their system to the TV. If you are running a standard component (red, yellow, white types) connection, you are still losing some of the resolution, HDMI or one of the other HD type connections are required to get the full effect of the TV. Now, if you're running that type of connection and still can't read it....I got nothing. I have vision to rival Mr. Magoo, without my contacts, but I've never had any issues reading the text in ME2. Not saying there shouldn't be a secondary text option, just trying to figure out why some of y'all with HD tv's are having issues.

I'm not sure, but I think Bioware was planning on fixiing that problem for ME3 anyways as a given. Can't say for sure, though.

I would like to make a deal - you get your font support for an older TV standard that no longer exists.

If we get full 2560x1600 texture resolutions.

We're both a minority here, but if we band together we can be a LARGER minority!

Don't worry, I'm leaving. I'm going to play some Mass Effect on my awesome HDTV.

HD TVs are cheap go buy one. Nice 20" HD for a couple hundred dollars. Stop buying games and invest in a television. You won't regret it.

I agree that games that will support SDTV's are going to disspear very soon so investing in a new TV would behoove those that donot have them, but dude, you are being a dick about it. Is it really necessary to antagonize people for no aparant reason? <_<
