They didn't actually say this.....did they? Given your list, I admit, I'm confused.

Nah, they said something about familar faces coming back in DA3, but they didn't mention in what capacity. Could just be as cameos, or maybe we will indeed get one or two past companions or popular NPC's as companions.

Need to find the quote but I remember it saying Companions would be a mix of new and returning favorites.

So I suspect 3 new companions and 3 old favorite whoever they may be.

Dwarf Shale discovering a shattering kneecaps is just as fun as squishing heads.
Charade Hawke wandering adventurer and link to Kirkwall.
Feynriel interesting powerset and it can be handwaved if Hawke screwed him over. Potentially the geeky mage I've always wanted since Fin.

New
City elf rogue and mage duo, siblings, married or potential couple the PC can help or hinder. Basically I want city elves perhaps npcs from DAO we wouldn't even think of as fighters.
Female Tal-Vashoth mercenary.
Faction companion/mentor- a templar (Cullen), Seeker (Cassandra), a rebel mage or other. A sort of Kreia type who has their own agenda but still helps the PC grow and define themselves.

I really hope a Golem party member makes another appearance.Shale was versatile and extremely good in combat.I want to see trap making back as well,and permanent out of combat stealth!!

I would like to see all new characters, but it wouldn't hurt, at least not much, to have some cameos of the previous games' characters.

I'd really like Nathaniel to come back as a companion. I think there's still more the writers could do with him. Other than him, I want all new companions please...and maybe some old favorites as temporary companions

I wouldn't mind having an armorsmith (or weaponsmith [or both!]) as a party member. There are a few things that could develop out of such a companion. Someone who fights with the weapons he (or she) makes, someone who makes special equipment for the PC...

Even though I would love for Alistair to come back, I have a feeling be won't
He will probably show up, but not as a companion.

I think there is a lot of potential here, and lots of awesome characters.


Edit: I forgot to mention but I would love to see Sebastian again (especially if I didn't do a certain thing he wanted me to do...)

I think it depends on what story they're telling.

If it's in Tevinter, Feynriel and Shale would be awesome.

If Orlais, I suspect we'll be seeing Leliana as a companion again.

I have a soft spot for city elves myself, and would love a companion who is truly "straight out of the alienage" rather than simply "not Dalish," with all that that would mean.  I'm not sure if he is precisely from the alienage but I always thought Micah would be a great companion, for example

Depending on what the story is I could see the other hawke((conor or bethany)) joining you to help find hawke. Id like to see varric and Oghren together. maybe bring back shale and or sten to help find the warden. Id like to see some new original companions. Id like to have other compaions from DAO and DA2 as more short questlines like some of the compaions in ME3 where you only get them for a mission. I do like the idea of haveing a darkspawn companion make him one of the new formed darkspawn from the architect. it would add a lot of interesting gameplay/story options.

I really want to see Cullen as a companion. That's my main hope companion-wise because... well, it's Cullen. I'm not expecting any previous companions to end up as companions again, so I don't particularly care if Isabela/Alistair/Morrigan is a part of my party. They better have cameos though (and hopefully will not have the ugly Alistair/Zevran syndrome like in DA2, ha).

I hope we have a female kossith. That would be amazing.

I don't think Cullen should be a companion. I agree that he should have a massive role in the game but I don't see him as the companion type.
I would like to have the warden back as the protagonist

As companions I'd like to see:

Cassandra (I think she's a safe bet for DA3 )
Cullen - I've liked his character since the mage origin
Orlesian chevalier
mage from Tevinter - who likes Tevinter and never stops going on about how great it is. Id like to hear the other side and not just "Tevinter has slaves and all the mages there are eeeevil"
male Dalish elf based on DAO dalish origin artwork

I also really like the dwarf from Khal-sharok idea, I'd like to know more about them.

I don't want to see Carver/Bethany again, as Hawke's siblings they would be out of place in DA3 for me. I'm not so sure about Charade, she could be a cool character if the fact that she is related to Hawke wouldn't be the main thing about her. She didn't seem that interesting to me in DA2.

I'd like fewer companions that are more fleshed out and important to the story rather than a wide selection. Instead of the 7th companion I'd rather have just 6 with lots of dialogue, banter and personal sidequests.

Also... SHALE! Either dwarf or golem - but I want the exact same voice ether way. I felt like I was adventuring with Bea Arthur and that was awesome - so much wonderful sarcasm!

It would be interesting to see the Old God Child come forward in some capacity, too. Not hard to include without destroying player choice from DAO (just have him/her be melded with some fade spirit, and change some references), although I don't know if s/he would make sense as a companion.

It isn't Cullen's fault that bad things happen when he happens to be in a place. That's just bad luck. Cullen is a good character though I think he should have some sort of romance written for him, especially since if you played a female mage he really fancied you. Cullen deserves a special someone.
