I think Bioware should definitely make Maraas a companion. He's an honorable Tal-Vashoth and he could give us his perspective of things much like Sten the Qunari gave us his persective of things.
He needs a crossbow named The Arishok. Named with intentional irony.

I still really, really want an awakened darkspawn companion, but I think I'm in the minority on that one.

Well, they'd infect you with the blight, for one. That's a major problem.

I think what I'd like is... a normal circle mage. Not a blood mage, or a fade spirit abomination, or a slightly feral apostate, or... another fade spirit abomination. Just a normal circle mage who's now out on their own because the circles have fallen. Though it sounds like Finn could work in that role, so I wouldn't mind seeing him pop up like that in DA3.

I would like a qunari female or maybe a qunari mage companion for DA3. Out of DA2's characters..... I would like to see Jethann as a DA3 companion. He may be a creepy-ass looking elven prostitute, but his ten seconds of screen time were awesome. Uh, who else... Charade, maybe and... that's about it for me

Charade also would make sense, since in-game it is stated that she is a good fighter (Hawke says that to her after the fight I guess).

I can easily see a few of them making cameos though. Everything seems to be pointing to DA3 being in Orlais. Boddahn and Sandal are both going to Orlais, it's where Morrigan supposibly went in Origins' epilogue, and there are a lot of issues going on in Orlais's court, and the Chantry.
I can definitely see Cassandra being a companion in DA3, or at least having a more active role in the game. I'd like to see Nathaniel or Cullen again. Though I'm not sure if they'd be companions or not. I'd also love to have a Qunari/Tal'vashoth companion again. Though I'm not sure Maraas would fit into that role well, since he doesn't want to be involved in people's "causes". And honestly, the DA3 protagonist is going to end up involved in causes. Everything that hints at another game is pointing to the fact that the mage/Chantry divide is still growing wider, and more complex.
And I seriously never want to see Oghren in a DA game again. I liked him well enough, and enjoyed having him in Origins and Awakening. But ugh. I think there's been more than enough Oghren in the DA series already. And I don't want to see any of the Origins companions make a return in DA3. For the same reasons I mentioned for DA2 up above.

And I don't want to see Isabela (Wh*re! And she has too vulgar apperiance.) and Merill (stupid B*tch) again.
I am so tired of Isy's jokes about sex.
And no redisigned elves, I hope.

I say this even though my most beloved character, Sten, probably cannot come back as a result of this.
Why? Sten is easy to coming back. Someone else free him from his cage.
Yeah, but the journal entry does actually say he doesn't survive. I know it's a minor point (and they ignored more with Anders/Leliana) but I'd prefer continuity over retreads of my favorite old characters.
Unlike some, I actually do enjoy NEW things, too.

I'd really love to see Knight-Captian Cullen again - though he's not the first templar companion in the Dragon Age series: Alistair was an initiate, and Carver could be a templar, too.

Not sure about the companions. I bet they will all be bisexual though.
Let's damn well hope so!!
Morrigan's god-child has to come up at some point. I know it's optional for her to get pregnant or not, but it's such a huge plot point that it can't be ignored. Maybe the god-child will be our PC at some point? You could design it to look pretty much however you wanted, considering your Warden as a father could be anyone. Unless Alistair did the deed... Anyway, after DA2 the baby would be how old? 8 or 9? Maybe wait until DA4. lol

Honestly think that child would make a better companion to the main character of what ever Dragon Age he/she comes of age in - instead of the PC . Right now give the climate of the world Morrigan is keeping her head very low and I don't see her popping about anytime soon expect in rumors .
Though the child could become a center peice in the entire conflict and its a race to see which side gets he/she to swing to their side-

Warriors:
Maraas
BA Kal'Sharok-ian dwarf with a hammer. Or an axe. ;P
Cassandra (I relented
Mages:
Feynriel
Morrigan (please, Bioware, please)
Rogues:
Dalish elf (male, female, doesn't matter) with some actual attitude. I adored Merrill, but really, she was a little too sweet for my tastes.
City elf
Dalish + City elf= snark buddies
Also, I'd love a cameo of my Warden Queen + Alistair, and Hawke + Fenris as well.
