I am a berserker/reaver 2 hander and I die in 2 hits wtf is with this game and I have 2 spirithealers in my party I can't believe I am lvl 17 and I haven't thrown my comp out of the window every fight I get 2 shotted and I thought Beserker/reavers are meant to be opd but there not there useless. Also my dwarf is lonely no one loves him and no one will kiss him and he is the most handsome dwarf ever. Anyone got any ideas on what class would be the easiest to play with the most survivability cause I am sick of everytime when I go into combat I get 2 shot and it is on EASY dificult. I just recently killed that girl who had the summer sword or whatever and it took me like 30 tries to kill her on EASY. Isn't easy meant to be a dificult where you can relax and actually smash the game with not any problems? I understand dying a few times is ok but dying millions of times with 2 spirit healers is just stupid. Any ideas on what class I should make that will give me more of a peace of mind and I can actually play the game without getting owned thank you in advance.

Press pause often and experiment with tactics screen. Just my few hints.

I figured as much, when I tried it 4 times on hard difficulty (I reloaded too early each time to see that I get captured instead of killed).

You get to face her again later, in a fair fight.Alistair Crowley wrote...
Yeah, the Cathrain fight is stacked against you. You survive it even if you lose.

do wear items that reduce threat.
Aggro is based on armor. So don't wear better armor than your tank.
Keep Shale or Alistair around to get hit for you.
Oh and use space to pause the fight from time to time
Most survivability?
Mage->Aracane Warrior, Sword & Shield Warrior, or a dextery based rouge with evasion.

And medium/heavy/massive armor all give the same amount of threat.

You're actually meant to lose to Ser Cathrain.
this sums it up ... well eventually ... because the sad part is that you do not really get notified about that so i lost 6 hours because i reloaded every time before my whole party wiped LOL

You could also have simply surrendered...
i could have but my character would never have done that, she is much too rabiate for such peaceful actions

The OP obviously already got past that part, since he actually KILLED Cauthrien the second time she comes at you. However, yeah, that bit was annoying. I think the only reason I didn't reload was that I was really frustrated at the time and told the TV "this must be a joke" and prepared to just switch off and stop playing for the evening.menasure wrote...

but yes that fight that you got two shotted repeatadly you are not supposed to win. and i dont mean your not supposed to win like your not supposed to be able to kill a high dragon (they are also stacked against you but ARE meant to be killed eventually) this fight you will literally progress in the story if you lose.
in light of this i find potions to be a cure for everything. if you have enough potions you should be able to get through a lot.
i usually just buy like 20 stacks of them, yes it defenately consumes space but i usually kill the elves for the wherewolves in the final fight so just to be safe i get close to 2 thousand elfroots.
i then just buy two backpacks and i have the same inventory space.

Reaver sucks. That's universally accepted. I think a few people have made successful Reaver builds but the vast majority of us are better off not bothering with it.
2H Warrior is really hard. You're not a strict DPS class. You're a debuff/support class. 2H works really well if you bring a rogue, a tank, and a spirit healer.
If you like warrior and want the game to be easier, play a DW beserker/champion. It's a complete joke. I duo the game on nightmare with Morrigan or Wynne so I can at least feel remotely challenged. There's very little tactical expertise required. Here's what happens. You run into a group of enemies with threaten up. You start auto attacking. They surround you. You use whirlwind followed by dual sweep. All of the sudden there are no more enemies surrounding you. They've just been slaughtered. You're wearing heavy armor since you're the main tank now, so now you're out of stamina. No big deal. Precise striking and Berserker should already be activated. Now activate momentum. Have a mage activate haste. Kill everything else that wasn't surrounding you in a matter of seconds.
At higher levels, after those two abilities are activated you'll be able to activate perfect striking and momentum as soon as those two AoE attacks are done. This helps kill things even faster, though I've found it's hardly needed.
If you're not a fan of pause and play, this is your build. Put Wynne on auto buffing/healing mode and you'll rarely ever have to pause. Even on nightmare.
Your other choices are basically any mage build, or a carefully crafted rogue build. If you don't build your rogue correctly it'll just be a nerfed DW warrior. So if you don't want to worry about that, go with DW Warrior as previously mentioned.
The only other "easier" class is AW/BM. And that doesn't get easier until you have all four AW abilities. So around level 14/16. Many people can solo the game on nightmare with that build. They're not tactical geniuses. They just put up the right buffs, have their mage auto attack, and come back after dinner to see they're mage with 80-90% of his health left and everything lying dead around him.
On one of my nightmare runs I made Wynne an AW/SH. Even that was just silly. All I ended up doing was letting everyone else die while I moved Wynne from enemy to enemy. She took way less damage than Ohgren in full Juggernaut, and substantially less damage than Loghain in the armor he comes with. Fade Shroud or whatever it's called is absurdly overpowered. If you truly want an "easy" game, AW/BM is your build.
