I'm just hoping they leave her pretty face alone. I'm OK with her having hair, but I think it should be short because seriously, it's shaved nearly bald in ME2, how long can it get over the span of a few months or a year?
It can get as long as they want thanks to the advancement in cosmetic surgery. The girl could even appear as another race if she so desired it. I just think that their playing around with a character who was already awesome to make her appeal more to mainstream audiences.

I'm not saying you're wrong , but it would be weird for them to do so.
Making the game more generally accessible is only worth it if you sell more copies , ergo mainstream appeal is only applicable to a degree. Having Jack look like barbie wouldn't sell more games considering we already have a token barbie doll , Ash also got Mirandafied. Moreover you risk alienating the fans which could cost you in revenues later on.
At least i hope her having "matured" isn't meant to say that she's no longer who Jack is supposed to be.

Ashley suffered the same fate, she was a strong woman who happened to sit somewhere between the lines of masculine and feminine so they prettied her up. I see the same happening to Jack.

We know that the person that lived on Virmire re-appears in ME3 yes? And that that person has since become a Spectre. As I understand it just from playing the games the Spectres are almost like the US Delta Force, which means, that sometimes they have to blend in with the crowd and such. That's the only real explanation I can give for Ashley suddenly going all feminine looking.
About Jack though, the only thing I hope that they do if they do anything costume wise is have something like her alternate look after her loyalty mission and maybe something LIKE lliberty spikes or a mohawk.

So, all female spectres get boob jobs? She isn't exactly blending into any crowd with her new uniform, if anything she will end up drawing eyes thanks to the form fitting nature of her new uniform coupled with her now perfectly hour glass frame.

I was mostly talking about the hair. And about the outfit, who knows... maybe she was a bartender or something on an assignment before getting transferred.AngelicMachinery wrote...

I could care less about Ashley's hair, she wore it back in a pony tail. She could change that if she desired. They just kicked up her sex appeal to eleven, and I suspect Jack will end up embracing contemporary notions of attractiveness as well. Which is ashame, the character was gorgeous as is (Best looking of the female characters to date) but, she's just going to end up as another miranda/ashley.

I almost doubt that about Jack. Remember, Miranda and Ashley both appeared on a ton of promo stuff for ME2 and ME1 respectively... I can't really remember Jack showing up too much. Someone like her will probably dress slightly more conservatively cause reports are her attitude has softened/matured some and that looks will probably match the attitude change.AngelicMachinery wrote...

You can doubt it, but, I suspect it's what's happening. Sure Miranda and Ashley were the feminine face for their respective games, butt, ME3 has already shown that females are be given make overs to emphasize Sex appeal even Liara received a boost to her bust. I just don't have much faith really, every female character seems like their being stuffed into sex appeal while the male characters have their bad assness further emphasized.

Well that's not necessarily a bad thing, a cosmetic change isn't the end of the world, Ashley let her hair down and suddenly she was the best character in the world lol, but as long as her personality is still standard Ashley and she isn't acting like Jessica(Roger Rabbits wife lol) it's fine. I would imagine Jack with hair, would look like the first Fem Shep default option. But as long as she doesn't become Liara or something, we're good to go. I think Jack as far as looks go, will retain some kind of uniqeness to her look.

I wouldn't want something like say Ashley or Liara would wear though. I'm thinking more along the lines of a battered old suit patched together from parts of several others that she's decorated with painted on skulls, kill counts, spikes, smart assed slogans, illegal mods and misc other things you'd expect from her.
It shouldn't be clean and proper at all, but it should still let the player believe she could actually go into space in it.
If they're going to make her "less naked" in 3 this is also one of the ways I'd want to see them do it.

She doesn't have the length for it but Jack should have zulu knots or something. Boo to this loose, long hair, sexing up nonsense.

Oh you... the new Jack is obviously going to be beautified for the main stream male. I for one don't support the redesign at all.

You forgot about Garrus' redesign for the hipster female
