"The only thing I didn't love was something visual, and the Bioware guys
changed before the release. Initially I wasn't mad about the leather
strap across her chest - but they changed it to a regular top. I'm not
puritanical at all - Jack just didn't seem like she would lead with
something so sexy - she's too guarded to show that much skin even though
she loves her tattoos. I felt they were for HER though, not to show
off. I thought the final look was great and her tattoos were especially
amazing. "
The thing with Jack, I believe when we first see her in her outfit, you know showing off all that skin and tattoo's, those to me, were a defence mechanism and were initially used to scare off anyone who would come down to talk to her, including Shepard. Once it leads to her finding out that Shepard cares for her and see's past all that, I believe it concludes to her feeling more comfortable with wearing clothing; the loyality outfit. Since she's with Shepard, she doesn't need scare him away, which leads to the part I bolded up top. Those tattoo's are for her and I can see her now covering them up, slightly - the alternate outfits, but only showing them to Shepard because he's a part of her life, as she is to him. Those tattoo's are a sign to me, that she'll only show all of them to Shepard and be willing now cover them up because I believe she would rather now just open them up to Shepard and being able to see that she doesn't need to use them to scare people off, you know what I mean?
Sorry if my explanation is all over the place, I'm not too good with writing
Just saying, that I feel she has a different mindset towards them because of what happened to her during her time with Shepard.
