I'm currently in Act III playing a crit-focussed Sword-and-Board warrior, and wondering what my best weapon option for the endgame is. After forking out for Four-Fingered Eddie's Lucky Talisman, the Etched Ring of the Twins and the Puzzle Ring of the Black Fox to get my crit chance and damage up, I do not have the money for the Blade of a Thousand Battles.

The way I see it, I can either stick with the Edge of Night (in which case I still need a back-up weapon for things that are immune to spirit damage) or go with something that further enhances my crits. Both the Bringer of Silence and the Raider Sword add 5% to crit chance and 12% to crit damage. The Raider Sword does 29 damage, while the Bringer of Silence does 28 but has a 5% chance to dispell hostile magic.

Any thoughts on the best option here?  Is there some better possibility that I haven't considered?

I suppose you could go full elemental with Sataareth and Glandivalis (in addition to the edge of night). I was tempted to make a build based around fire and electricity (using robes of unblemished and ring of the ferryman for +48% dmg for both). Either way, you shouldn't hit too many immunities to all three elements and you get these weapons for free.

Otherwise I suppose you could respec into 2H and use elemental weapons (bloom, sundering and the celebrant). sundering has a useful +crit chance and crit damage modifier if I remember correctly.

I'd say main edge of night then use hawke's key as your backup. Improves with level-up weapons are the best place to put your runes and are usually the best weapon for each build. You can use fadeshear as your backup too if you don't have legacy yet or any of the other weapons you find.

I think that it should be pretty clear that the best weapons are going to be the elemental ones. The way they negate enemy armor puts them far ahead of non-elemental weapons.

In act 3 there are no more Electric immune enemies. Also you run into a lot of Demons and Shades. I run primarily Glandivalis for this reason. (received for free from Hybris)
I would of course bring along Edge of Night for spirit-weak enemies, (aka Templar and Orsino) but the sheer amount of spirit-immune enemies in act 3 is very off-putting.

About Saartereth:
While Saartereth is easier to get, I hate how few enemies are fire-weak how many are fire immune. It's only worth running it over Glandivalis against the Kirkwall Gangs and Hybris (and you don't have a choice in this case)
It does however, have an advantage in the sheer amount of +fire accessories you can get. Along with what Mr. afk suggested, there is the sword itself, Volcanic Shield, and ~30% worth of acessories. You can reach something like +110% fire damage. The problem with that is that you have used Crit gear for most of your slots so this is not nearly as good a benefit.
