Just seen the announcement on Take-Two's site.

"Eager gamers can learn more about Borderlands 2 right now by picking up the latest issue of Game Informer Magazine, which has the worldwide exclusive cover story on the title. Readers will find many game details inside the issue, including the first reveal of one of the several new character classes being introduced in Borderlands 2."

From Take-Two.

I am so excited, it's untrue! :o

Oh joy! BL was my favorite shooter  Hopefully it'll be less focused on killing giant crustaceans and have a more longlasting community that isn't full of ACK.

If it has the same 5 machine activation limit like the first game, I'll skip it and pick it up for $5 several years later.

Hopefully they will do a better job with the PC version this time around. The default mouse smoothing was horrible and the interface could have used a make over too.

An option for server side characters would be nice.

If not, it's wait for the GOTY edition for $7.50.

I'll probably pass. I couldn't get into the first one. I might have liked it a lot more if I could design my own character.

The two things I'd love for them to add is full character creation (unlikely) and being able to play in third person all the time instead of just in vehicle.

I played it after the mods were released which tweaked those settings and never had a problem with it.

Yeah, Borderlands felt stale and sterile. And the writing was HORRIBLE and had no idea what style it wanted to be.

It was extremely repetitive, although I found the plethora of weapons somewhat amusing. It was fun, and I suppose there was kind of a tongue-in-cheek Mad Max/sci-fi vibe. I wasn't keen on the writing, stories or the bloody checkpoints. And the ending was not particularly satisfying. Again, I found it fun, but there were a few negatives. I just hope that instead of the checkpoints, they actually have quicksaving and so forth (being forced to play until I finish a zone/map/all my quests so that I don't have to drive a zillion miles does NOT make me happy).

I just got gifted Borderlands and all DLC on steam was OK but a one run only type game for SP, co-op is where it's at with that game.

I hope they don't try to add too much to the story, not every game I play needs to have an epic story.

Borderlands was first released in 2009 so the time period appears OK.

Borderland provided a great escape after being immersed in Mass Effect1/2 for so long so I really enjoyed it. ( I didn't play it until last January.) So, when BL2 is released it may once again give me another enjoyable break between Mass Effect 3 playthroughs. I wouldn't say it was an epic game by a longshot but it was lotsa fun. I didn't need too much focus. And I did appreciate its frivolity and comic relief.

New Details!

1 - The Game will (again) Fully support 4 Player Co-op, but instead of the Original Characters (Brick,Lilith,Mordecai and Roland), the game will have new protagonists, while the ones from BL1 will be downgraded to NPCs.
The Only Protagonists revealed thus far, is Salvador, some sort of long bearded Midget.

2 - Along with New Characters, the game will also have New classes. So far, the only one revealed is the Gunserker, Salvador's class, with which you will be able to Dual-Wield any type of weapon.

3 - Also, the Game's Story will shape itself depending on the way you handle the missions, and whether you succeed or not.

4 - With the 3rd news, we can assume that the game will have a story.

5 - A new type of Currency has been created, it's Called Eridium, and it can also be used as a way to increase Guns and Vehicles stats.

6 - Enemies will be More Varied and Smart.

7 - ALL the Weapons from Borderlands 1 are being Scrapped (:crying:), and repleaced with new ones, which promise to be a lot more Over the top.

8 - Last, but CERTAINLY not least, the game will be Shown at Gamescom, in August 17 to 21.

well those are all the-
wait what?

Heres a new, last minute Detail: The Game Will be F***ing awesome.
