I have come across several people who appeared convinced that it isn't possible to reach Lvl. 60 in two playthrough's. While this was indeed the case for my original Shepard, with whom I was unable to reach Lvl. 60 until my third playthrough, my most recent Shepard managed to hit Lvl. 60 towards the end of a second run as her. I had created her from scratch and played through the game. Later, I chose to play as her again through NG+. I started at Lvl. 54 and was able to reach Lvl. 60 around halfway through Virmire.

I have to say I was surprised, though; I thought it would take at least two-and-a-half runs to get to Lvl. 60. Nonetheless, I'm glad I could do it. This is my second Lvl. 60 Shepard now.

Oh yes, you can get lvl 60 in two playthroughs. I typically get to lvl 56 on the first playthrough, but I do every side mission and collection, usually do the majority of the side missions on the 2nd run and can hit lvl 60 at or before hitting Ilos. *tip in case it wasn't mentioned before - get out of the Mako to make the final kill shot on enemies, you get more XP that way.

Funny thing is I almost always killed stuff without getting out of the Mako. I never planned to hit Lvl. 60 on my second run as I wasn't aware it was possible to begin with. It kind of just came by itself.

I think people mean that you can't get level 60 in your First two runs because of the level 50 cap for your first run. I looked it up one time, and I believe it takes as much XP to get from level 55 to 60 as it does to get from level 1 to 55. Basically, if you can't get to level 55 on your first run with a character, you probably won't hit 60 on your second run.

That actually makes sense--although I was at 54 when I started my second run. Regardless, I'm sure you're right in your assessment. I think it's only a matter of being *very* thorough. There is quite a bit to do in the game if you have the patience for it.

There's no need to get out of the Mako to kill if you do all UNCs and collections in both runs... you'll hit Level 60 naturally like that. My first Level 60 happened in a second run in Virmire, too.

Killing everything while not in the Mako and doing all the side quests and such is what really makes this possible.

Just a FYI max Lift makes those huge Geth aramatures a cake walk.

Actually you can...but it takes having both DLC's and getting out of the Mako at every opportunity to do so...and doing every mission and side mission....I found this out the hard way when my XBox account went boom and I had to start ME from square one again....gnrgnrgnr...:(

While advice is good, this thread is almost four years old.
