I hope it gets darker,I mean it's the goddamn Reapers. Worlds must be lost, friends and lovers too.

Agreed! Goddamnit! ''LET THE BODIES HIT THE FLOOR...LET THE BODIES HIT THE FLOOOR...AAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!'' :wizard:

Personally, the more squadies that die the better.  At the end it should be Shep standing alone splattered in Tali, Garrus, Liara's brains...

You should be free to have that ending, but those of us who want everyone to come through in one piece should be able to do that, too.

I know I might be hated for saying this but I would like to see a death like Kat from halo reach. It added a feel of: holy crap these people can die so easily I'm sad now. maybe not to a squamate but maybe a planet or a race. thoughts?

i agree but i would like to flip it around, the idea that a single squadmate has more importance then a planet or race kinda irks me...i trust bioware to do it well

I am of the opinion that if an entire civilization falls, and that one of that race is one of your squadmates, then they will die as well.  Because can you imagine the Turians fighting to the death, and Garrus not going to fight with them?  Or the Hanar home world being overrun, and Thane Krios just standing idly by? Same goes for Krogans and Grunt, Salarians and Mordin, etc.

didnt think of it that way, good point

I agree, good point.

Bioware stated that while the tone is expected to get darker it will also bring back some lightheartedness. Mass Effect 1 was an introduction so it had for the most part had a little more lightheartedness than it did dark. Don't get me wrong however the first game had its moments of darkness but at the end the game is a little more optimistic at first when it comes to fighting the reapers. Mass Effect 2 had more dark and disturbing moments than its predecessor but also had some jokes that made sure the game wasn't so disturbing and dark that nobody wanted to play it. The ending while optimistic made us feel like there was no way to beat the reapers/ Mass Effect 3 so far seems like it will strike a balance between the first two games. Now the reapers are here and all that hopelessness and sadness comes with war. However like others have stated people make jokes even in the most dire of situation. Some people use it as a way of coping with heartache.

Garrus: That one went through the lung. I'm not gonna make it.
Shepard: Don't say that, Garrus. Joker, bring in the Normandy.
Garrus: Can it wait for a bit? I'm in the middle of some calibrations.
