According to the Treehouse facebook page, there will be more than 200 released as singles. So looks like more than 500 of each are being printed/signed.

The same thing occurred to me, too.  Wonder what the number's been raised to: 1,000 maybe?  I think they'll struggle to shift that number of SR2 Prototypes.

Just so were clear we are talking about the release of 800 rather than 500 or 300. Right?

Well I got my math wrong, but I got the vibe right that there were being more created at least.


Thing is the 300 felt like collectors items.

500 was a little more but still felt like collectors items.

800 signed and potentially unlimited unsigned ones is starting to take away that feel. Plus it puts weight on the numbers under 100 becoming even more desirable.


Still if the demand is there I dont at all blame you for taking this stance. Still it just feels like things are becoming a little too saturated now and to be honest, less appealing to buy as they no longer seem as unique.

Or maybe its just me and we long time collectors will need to adapt to the changes.

Its  not just you Captain. A few of us feel this way, im definitely a little repelled at it, this and the price hike. Im not naive, business is business, but its definitely not having the same buzz.
That might be because im not entirely arsed about these particular designs, we'll see.

No Captain you are right. The ME Lithos are too much now, in terms of quantity and saturation. That's why after Archangel and 11 lithos bought over the past year. I'm done.

I've been an avid collector from the beginning but like many of you I'm pretty turned off by the "evolution" of things as Domino put it. The lithos have progressively become less interesting and dynamic in my opinion. Combine that with an ever increasing price, and now nearly 1,000 signed copies available. All of these things devalue the lithos and reduce demand. I get that Treehouse wants to capitalize on huge success of the lithographs and yes I agree entirely that business must adapt and change, however all of the changes crap on the collectors and customers and turn us away.

Agreed. Plus I doubt these will sell out. Look at Pragia and Purgatory those are still up after months and months.

So we are getting 800 of those instead of the usual 500 AND there's a price increase? Great, think I'll pass on those 2 lithos. I guess these two lithos are not exactly the best ones to increase the quantity, and combined with the price increase I suppose they will sit on the store for at least several days. I'm starting to miss the good old days when the first Me2 lithos were released.

I entirely agree.  I think 500 was the perfect number.  A lot of the appeal was the limited release and the fact that they are hard to obtain.  That's what makes them special. I don't have a problem with the mini lithographs at all, but unsigned lithographs that are the same size take away from the collectability of the art.  

The hike in price is pretty much the last straw.  It almost seems like Treehouse is going penalize us for not wanting both lithographs.  I know its $80 for the pair, but I have a feeling its going to be $50 for the individual lithos.  They should definitely not charge the same amount if they are raising the number produced.

Seriously though I agree with everyone else. I don't understand how we can have full size unsigned releases and then have an increase in the number of signed. Isn't that why you made the unsigned ones the same size? So that people wouldn't miss out on having the art even if they couldn't have the signed one. Anyway I am just going to get the unsigned ones from now on if they are available at full size in the future still. No point in getting a signed one for me as I just wanted the art.

LOOk guys when the darth maul litho came out in 2005 after Star Wars Eps. 3, they only made 1000 limited, so I think 800 is fine! So don't get your Space Underware in a Twine Ha Ha!! Hey the more the bettA!!!

Thing is i think the unsigned might be 40 bucks each, or at least the Team was. I know that doesnt guarantee that but 40 bucks for unsigned is not cool

And at the very least lower the price if you're going to expand the run by such a big amount. Portal lithos might be a 100 bucks each, but theyre limited to a 100 or 200 run.

I've bought them all, every single litho since the started. I paid $18 for Saren, which was limited to a print run of 100 with only 75 going to fans. I'm beyond a hardcore ME fan, and I've bought some I didn't really care for because I felt a need to keep the collection going intact. This is the breaking point for me.

The print quality, size, paper quality have all remained unchanged, with no improvments since day one, but yet we've seen print runs go from 100, to 250, 300, 350, 400, 500, and now a massive 800. Meanwhile prices have gone up from 30, to 40, to now 50 (for singles) in the span of 12 months. Totally unacceptable. Some increase is understandable in both print run size and price due to the popularity, but that threshold was exceeded long ago, and I don't see any justification in this move at all.

@ShepardOsiris Good point about the Price Increases! Im a Huge ME FAN, hey yall be my friend Yall on Bioware social network!!! ALso Im studing fimmaking down in New Zealand and next year I will try to make a 30 minute fan made film of Mass Effect or Dragon Age!! I have already completed a 4 year degree at a university and now pursuing my passion to make very great films. What im trying to say is by that time maybe I can get a forum going about how to conform the short film which I will post on You TUbe. It will be free and its will be fan made, but that doesn't mean the short film has to be of low talent quality so Im recruiting fans and advice!! I live Austin, Tx where the SWTOR is being made and I was at the front door talking to an Bioware Employee, and I saw this tall person with his luggage like if he was plane bound and i instantly recognized him and held the door as a courtesy! I told the Bioware employee, "Was that Ray Muzyka that walked by, CEO and co-founder of Bioware" she said YES!!!! So yeah I tried to get a job at Bioware Austin but their online job descriptions are few and I would really like to be involved in Bioware's future an contribute, I would like to do movie editing and  Cinemotography!!

The limited run was a huge appeal factor to me. It makes no sense to have such a big run and then print the exact same thing for an unsigned run...as let's face it, the signature are pretty worthless. From a relatively unknown artist, with signatures (dependent on artist) that generally look awful.

Has the run size of 800 actually been confirmed?

In regards to unsigned versions, who's to say I don't just buy an unsigned version and sign it myself...at least the Team ones were slightly different.

These used to be pretty special to collect, let's keep it this way. They're starting to sound more like £3.99 door posters.
