Hm, for $30/litho I might even get both of them. We shall see, we shall see...

Still a bit too early to tell...but I think you're right. However, there might be more demand for the singles, but I have a feeling 500 of them will be a slow sell.

I just think it's a joke that there will be 800 of each on a supposable limited lithograph, plus on top of that huge number; how ever many unsigned versions which will look exactly the same bar a sodding signature.

I'm personally making a stand and not buying it out of principle. I know it probably won't make a difference...but to me there is no appeal of a lithograph (despite actually quite liking the artwork) which is pretty much available on an unlimited run.
Hell, just look at Pragia and Purgatory, which to me consist of nicer artwork, are available in lower numbers...and are still AVAILABLE in the store.

Hm, Purgatory seemed a bit of a rushed piece to me, but to each their own. I do like the SR2 Prototype, but right now I'm thinking about waiting and seeing if the price goes down on the singles. I figure the principle is proved if you wait until the price drops...they shouldn't have to drop the price to get them to sell.

Edit: 125, if anyone's counting.

dead reaper looks just .... boring and well "over the top"

At least you see more of the Reaper than you do of the SR2.

True, you see more of the Reaper...but it looks kinda like a victory scene, like the end of ME3 or something...doesn't seem appropriate when the game isn't out yet! The colors have grown on me a little, though. If the price is reduced I might consider getting it.

Reality check, the days of people like me making a fortune, barring crazy releases like the team, are over. There is still some cash to be made, but you'll most likely only make enough to cover the cost for your personal collection after paypal and Ebay fees. Too many releases, the rise in cost, and the rise in signed copies turn it into MUCH less of a collectible. That's cool though!

4 hours later, 120 left. This slowed down awful fast.

So today BioWare Store “evolved”, caving in to the demands of a few unhappy customers by increasing the number of signed lithos to 800, and sometime next week issuing these exact same lithos in an unlmited amount sans the signature. Many loyal customers, in turn, took a stand against BWS selling a nearly unlimited amount of lithos at a “limited” price point. As of 21:00 MDT, only 180 of 300 signed 2 packs have been sold with another 500 signed singles of each yet to come. Wonder who blinks first ..

Just thinking out loud here but I wonder if they might (or even possible) to scale the 800 count back to like 500 if there ends up being so little demand.

Who knows, I assume not. I'd imagine a vocal minority would find a way to complain about that too.

Sometimes you just can't win. I don't envy Ms. D.

Marketing, economics, supply vs. demand...it's all a fickle mistress. I don't envy Ms D, either. This is why I'm only minoring in Business, not majoring. Lol.

I'm not sure but I'm willing to bet that Ms D don't decide these things. I think shes mostly customer support.

Actually as of 23:40 MDT, only 152 lithograph packs have been sold.  Only 135 went up for sale at each release point, not 150.  Likely 15 in each group have been held back for replacement packs.   So some 13 hours after the initial release of these lithographs, there still remains 648 signed and "limited" prints of each lithograph.  Or in other words, even after the typically highest sales period has passed for these two lithographs, there are nearly as many prints of each lithograph still in stock than the entire print runs of Saren, Illium and Citadel combined.

At this point, releasing an unsigned version would be beyond idiotic, there is no demand.  Considering only 356 Purgatory lithographs have been sold at a $30 price point in the near 10 months it's been up on the store, there is a good chance these two could literally spend years on the store site.   Where exactly are all these people that demanded a higher print run?  And if the goal was really to give more people a chance to buy the lithographs, then why was the strict "1 per customer" limit lifted?

I did not purchase these, nor do I plan to.  I don't think any part of these recent policy changes from Treehouse were handled well or in the customer's best interest, and I'm thrilled that sales were so slow.  I hope that continues, because a couple more releases like this will unquestionably force the store to consider it's tactics and how it treats it's customer base.  It may also be the only way they open thier eyes, because many of us have been posting here, trying for some time to get the store to listen without success.

Ha I knew these lithos would turn out to be a fail. Sorry Treehouse, you can't:
Use uninspired Art
Continuously hike the prices of these lithos
Increase the print run by a ridiculous amount
Release an unsigned version of the art, especially in the exact same size

and expect the lithos to sell well.
I hope you see that your 'experimental test' failed.

Hey at least its either on forums or via pm and not down the phone!! :P

Ms D is really helpful, but she only does what she told via her managers.  So she sends her feedback to them that we give her.

The only time I felt I needed to stongly pm with a mini rant in the past was with the suprise Cerberus release.   I was in bed when it happened so was really upset half the stock disappeared without my knowledge.   Anyway Treehouse never did that again so I was happy.

Anyway its not so much that there 800.  As said this is an experiment so if they sell slow we most likely will go back to 500.   However the fact there will be a full size unlimited run afterwards is what I cant fathom.   I understood the mini-lithos.  But full size ones now?    You literally are just buying the signature.

Of course Ms D doesn't decide these things, Traps, but she does get the blowback from us whenever decisions are made. Legendaryhawk, I was agreeing with his sarcasticness, that the singles wouldn't be that popular at this rate. I can pick up on sarcasm on the internetz...lol.

Hopefully Treehouse will stop listening to whiny people and start listening to true fans who wanted these kept to a low run number. 300? 400? 500?... fine. 800? Consider golden goose killed.

I would have purchased these had it not been for the obnoxious price hike, ridiculous print run, and the fact that the unsigned versions are the same bloody size.

The art had nothing to do with my decision to let these go (Watts is an utterly fantastic artist); Treehouse's new lithograph policy did.

And who are you to decide who is a 'true fan' and who isn't?

Just because people want an equal shot at these without paying the ridiculous prices by ebay prostitutes doesn't make them any less of a fan than you or anyone else.

/facepalm
