A sniper rifle is at least 3 feet long. If the enemy is already inside that range how can you shoot him?

Exactly, at minimum three feet of solid material smashed into your face. Then either you topple backwards, or the other one takes two steps back and shoots you point blank.

Easy, efficient, effective. The three E's of warfare.

Yes. Because using the Sniper Rifle at close range is extremely reliable in the Mass Effect universe.

What? You never Viper spammed a guy at close range before?

Seems like a dumb idea. It'll take a few shots for the Viper to kill him, if it can do the job at all, whereas a single hit from the Omniblade'll put them down, quick and clean.

But it's not quick and clean. If you watch the demo, it takes several omni blade strikes, each doing pitiful damage. The strong attack requires charging, so while you're winding up that devastating blow to the sternum, your victim and his buddies are pelting you with bullets!

Which demo? I recall the original showing Shepard one-shotting enemies with it.

Those were execution moves.

I'm lol'ing that you think that 'swords made with lasers' are somehow more realistic than ominblades. Fail.

I'm gonna nerd out here a bit and say..It's not lasers! It's a beam of plasma projected within a magnetic containment field. That said, I'm still not sold on the whole omniblade thing.
