How do I change passive abilitiies? I know the GDA file is not the abi.gda but the passive one but how do I actually implement those changes?

I am playing with a mod that greatly increases the difficulty. I was wondering how I could change Fenris' passive ability for magic resistance and raise it to 50%?

It seemingly cannot be done with the normal abi.gda? or can it? which column is responsible for that?

Thank you!

I believe you want passive_abilities.gda. Find ID 112030 (1st column) and change it's modifier (3rd column) to 50.

EDIT: I don't think passive_abilities.gda is extendable like abi_base.gda.  To be safe, copy the original GDA and make the desired modification(s).  You can make additions; but DO NOT DELETE ANYTHING.  Save the file with the same naming convention (passive_abilities.gda).  Place it in the override folder to override the original file.

You are correct, it is passive_abilities.gda. However it is extendable, just give it an extension eg passive_abilities_apathy.gda is what I use for my mod.

In abi_base.gda there is a list of connections to passive_abilities.gda at column 86, and a few of the preceeding entries. They are pretty much all identical to the skill ID, incremented up by 1 for each.

Fenris's Deflect ability is 112030, so goto passive_abilities and find that row.

First entry is the ID number obviously.
Second is the type of bonus (magic reistence, critical chance etc).
Third is the magnitude of the bonus. So 25.0 for 25%.
Final value... I don't know what it does but it seems to be only used once.

Sorry.  Since it is listed in the m2da_base.gda as passive_abilities (and not, for example, passive_), I assumed it would resolve only to the default name.  This was the case for some GDAs for DAO.  They may have changed this in DA2.  Thanks for the clarification.  :)

Nah it seems DA2 is fairly clever and will replaced the original entries with anything in similarly named files. I have 4 passive entries in my passive_abilities_apathy.gda with override the originals.

I made the experience that the game will scan for originalfilename_*.gda, meaning passive_abilities_*.gda will work, passive_abi_*.gda won't though.
