I for one would love to play as the Warden again instead of Hawke or a entirely new character.

I would love to play my canon Warden again ^_^ If DA3 let us do thta, they will have a customer, no matter what xD

Other options seem great too -like new char, with new races, as qunari.

My only and most precious wish: that Hawke disappears from DA universe. I wont play any game as her/him on the main role.

I would like a new main character and to be able to import the Warden and Hawke. And being able to reallocate attribute points/skills so they can all fit same gameplay.

Or am I just being overly optimistic?????

I'm completely open-minded on this.

Warden: Don't really care if they impose a voice on him.  Some note their Wardens are dead or that his story ended with the Blight.  If Bioware has a story and can have the "Warden Commander" fill in for any dead wardens, fine.  I think one of the reasons people pine for the Warden is that the romantic subplots (Morrigan, Alistair, Leliana, Zevran) were more compelling than the main plot and those (especially Morrigan) can feel unresolved.

Hawke: While I didn't like DA2 as much as DAO, I still liked DA2. I didn't connect to deeply with Hawke because I didn't have to make tough choices for him.  I've found it's the decision-making that gets me into a character's head and makes me feel like the character.  That said, I don't see Hawke as "ruined".  If used in a later game, I think he could be more compelling in that game than he was in DA2.

New Character: I assume this is what we'll get.  And I'm fine with that.

If your Warden is dead, then I say do the Awakenings solution: use the Orlesian Warden. However, I wouldn't want either one as a playable character. DA2 ended roughly 10 years after DA:O, so chances are the original Warden will be approaching their late 30's. Not that that means the Warden will be old and feeble, but the ability to be thrown into a new location and needing the world explained to you as a seasoned Warden veteran would seem a little stretched.

Hawke may be the main character in DA3. After all the work they did trying to brand the franchise with Hawke being the main character, they may just run it out. I would be fine with them doing this, but my gripe is this. In the ME series, the story is about Shepherd. Sure, you have the galaxy and the Reapers and all that other stuff... but, from the first time you picked up the controller, you were creating your Shepherd and shaping and exploring the world with that person.

In Dragon Age, we began exploring the world as a BUNCH of different people... a Dwarven commoner forced to fight in the Provings. A Dalish elf exploring some mysterious ruins. A mage confronting demons in the Fade.

The WORLD was what we experienced, not a character. And the concepts of The Fade, The Black City, The Blight, The Chantry, The Dalish, The Wardens, The Circle... these were the things we became attached to, not the character we were playing as themself.

So that's why I say I don't really care who is in the driver's seat for the next Dragon Age game. I'm more interested on the destination and the sights to see. Because if we get to explore Tevinter and see how things work with the Magisters, I don't care if Pac Man is the main character... as long as I can choose to make him a mage, I will be ecstatic.

New character. Take the Human Noble origin, transplant it to Orlais and add some real political intrigue this time. That's pretty much the only thing that would interest me right now.

I'll like to have hawke as a main character, I know the warden is in an Order that have to be neutral and taking part of something big will cause everyone to hate the warden's and the eradication of the Order.
This is one of the things that worries me with Alistair been king-warden and a friend of mages. I wish Hawke could go back to ferelden and take the blame.. I lov Alistair and The warden's...

OR a new character who do not have ties with the Chantry or templars, it can have family members in either organization however, just for spice :P

I want to be able to at the very least be able to play as: Human/Elf Mage, Human, Elf, or Dwarf Rogue or Warrior.

The choices were already very limited in DA:O I was dumbfounded when they streamlined them down even more.

I hate streamlining so much its making me want to quit playing games. I also can't stand how popular Male Human Warrior is as a choice for gamers ... it is so overwhelmingly more commonly picked that the other racial choices seem insignificant to the developers now. You boring ... nevermind.

New character of one of the 3 races. It'd feel wrong to bring the warden back. Hawke COULD work, but i don't want that. Dragon Age was to be a series of individual tales within the universe. I kind of liked that idea. Even if the third is to continue the ****storm from DA2, i hope we get a new characters angle on the future of it. Besides. they CAN'T bring the warden back and have happy customers. They'd have to revert to the Origins skill tree which they disliked OR pull a Mass Effect and reset us to level 1 leaving our "all powerful warden" about as useful as a street urchin.

Just imagine if they reset the Child of Bhaals level at the start of BG2 or even worse at ToB. When a game is so centric about you being powerful. Nulling that power ruins it.

New protagonist or Hawke. Defnitely NOT the Grey Warden.
It would be nice to be able to choose a race as well (human, dwarf of elf). I do NOT imply another Origins story however, just for the record.

Hawke and the Warden are both...hmmm, do I say it in a no-spoiler thread? Anyway, a new protagonist seems the logical choice, and I'm totally cool with that.

I think both the Warden and Hawke will play a role in DA3, though. They kind of have to, as do Flemeth, Sandal, the Wardens (including Stroud), etc.

I do not want my Wardens back. They're all too busy or dead, not to mention ridiculously powerful. (In game terms and world terms. The queen of Ferelden and the only living dwarf Paragon do not need to be running around doing level one fetch quests, thanks.) I know there's always the ubiquitous Orlesian ring-in, but that felt rather unsatisfying in Awakening.

I wouldn't mind having Hawke return, but I'd prefer a new character. Would like to hear what happened to the protagonists of the first two games after they disappeared, though.

I want my warden Back. It made more sense that she/he was powerful than it did with Hawke. At least the warden was strong because of the darkspawn blood but Hawke was just a regular person whom out of nowhere became a super hero, then why didn't everyone else in Kirkwall do the same?

I'd like Hawke's story to be completed. I don't care if that's through DA3, an Awakening style expansion, or just a series of DLCs. But I'd like to spend more time with my Hawke as he sails the hell out of Kirkwall with Isabela.

After that, New protaganist is great. I never want to see my Warden again or play a new Warden. Doubly so after seeing Legacy and seeing what a Warden starts to look like after awhile.

New character. I'd very much like closure on Hawke's story, but not it being the topic of a whole game. As for the Warden... Too many of them out there, including some dead ones and some who went through the Looking Glass (wonder whether they're fighting tainted teapots there)

For the same reason we all haven't discovered penicillin, painted Mona Lisa or crossed the Rubicon?

Cassandra Pentaghast, eventhough it limits our choices to not even being able to chose male or female. :G

But, that`s my choice.

I'm not sure how BW could pull off the Warden unless we had to re-create our Warden's and choices at CC stage.

I'd be happy enough to play as Hawke but only if the appropriate LI companion was also there (Fenris in my case).

Playing the Warden or Hawke without the appropriate companions is not what I'm looking for so if it's to be all new companions, I want an all new character... can I be an elf please... although not one of the ugly ones.

I liked how DAO ended with the different wardens I had. The ones that took Morrigan's offer got a nice slideshow update about thir lives with their LIs and the ones that didn't had a satisfying conclusion as well. I'd rather not revisit those characters again.

(I am excising the DAA expansion from my memory, as it COMPLETELY ruined one of those enings for me. Alistair was no longer in the warden's good graces after that.)

That being said, I would like to see the resolution of Hawke's story, particularly as Varric indicated that there was more to it.... But NOT if Bioware "tweaks" any of the companions (like was done to Anders from DAA to DA2). Can't you just see them changing Varric to a holier than thou proponent of dwarf isolationism or something equally out there? Phbbbt.
