Anyone but Hawke, simply because I found myself unable to care at all about how his story or life played out.. He just turned out to be an overwhelmingly boring character to me. The Warden would be ideal, but it doesn't seem very realistic at this point. Who knows, BioWare might end up coming up with something even better than the Warden, time will tell.
Who do want to play as in DA3?

New character, definitely.
While I think more could be done with Hawke, I would prefer to see that in an expansion to DA2 then in a new game. As for my Warden, as much as I liked her, I don't need to see her again.
I think bringing back the PCs would restrict the game somewhat. This would particularly be the case with companions. Can you imagine the anger if Warden or Hawke was brought back without LIs or favorite prior companions? Look at the freakouts on the Mass Effect 3 boards, and how people are upset that prior companions might not play as large a role in their Shepard's storyline.
I just think starting with a new character is the best way to start a fresh story without getting burderned by prior companions and prior storylines.

I suspect Sandal has some crazy magic up his sleeve. It would be adorable watching him running around a field, zapping people, scratching his bum, whilst exclaiming, "I want some pie".

I want to play as somebody completely new, who can be any race, who is helping Cassandra/The Chantry to locate Hawke/The Warden and solve the crisis. That way our old player characters can make cameo's (and maybe fight alongside us) and characters like Cassandra can be party members.

Hawke or a new character.
To me, Hawke's story feels far from over and I want to be there for the conclusion (or at least go along for the ride in the driver's seat.)
I felt that my Wardens each had a reasonable conclusion to their respective stories. Some died killing the Archdemon, others ran off to do some righteous Grey Wardening, some became Queen-Consort, yadda yadda. Ultimately, I was satifisfied with closing the door on that chapter of the DA story.

New Character - The Morrigan's Son.
Setting - Tevinter
If we had to import a character from a previous game I'd rather to play as Hawke, but if the game started from level 1 then Warden or Champion it would be the same.

I don't think it's going to happen, but I want to play as a Tevinter Magister or an elf from Seheron (or both?).
Please not again The Warden or Hawke.

Yes I agree with you, and like someone also said: if Hawke is NOT with the Li.. give a new character then.

As much as I love my warden and would like to play as him again I feel like his story is done. Nothing really to add to it.
I'd like to play as Hawke or a new character, and if we do get to play as a new character I want to be able to play as an elf again!
Or maybe a Qunari. That would be pretty cool.

I don't ever want to see Hawke or the Warden again.

Hawke. Her/His story just feels unfinished and I am eager to know what "fate" has in store for her/him.

I would prefer a new character. DA is supposed to be about Thedas and not one particular character or group. As such, our PCs should continue to be different characters with different backgrounds and different loyalties.

Hawke please, Bioware said he is supposed to be "the most important person in the DA universe" and seeing how DA2's plot was largely unimportant then making an entirely new character for DA3 would be like the writers shooting themselves in the foot...again.

I wish I could say the warden, but I know that introduces more problems than it's worth. I still want some closure on them, but trying to work them into another game as protagonist would probably wind up a contrived bodge job.
Sooo.... New character. I like Hawke, but depending on how DA2 post-campaign content goes I don't think it's worth stringing him/her along longer than needs be, plus Hawke comes with some awkward baggage just like the warden.

As much as I love Hawke, I would like a new character. As long as that new character is not a Grey Warden, anyway. I hate Grey Wardens, they are boring.

To me, it depends on the future DLCs and expansion (*crosses fingers*): If we get closure to Hawke's story post-Gallows, I would be fine with a new protagonist. If we do not, I think DA3 needs to be about Hawke, and how the choices he made (or didn't make) affect the mage/templar conflict moving forward. Either way, Hawke's story needs closure.
If we do get a new protagonist, I think a Seeker or maybe someone from the Tevinter Imperium would be interesting. Hell, even a Nevarran would be awesome! (are there still dragon hunters around?)

I'd like to continue my Warden's story or if I can not, a new character. I hope to never see Hawke again in any future installment.

I want to play as Hawke again, largely because I personally feel that his or her story has only begun. I think the Magi Rebellion that begins at the end of Dragon Age 2 is far too big to be concluded in a DLC or expansion, and I also want to see how each of Hawke's companions change, based on their friendships and rivalries.

I'd like to play as someone whose background puts them pretty much outside of the basic conflicts in Thedas--a main character who is written from the ground up to pretty much view all the ongoing conflicts as "ya'll stupid" and/or "a plague on both your houses". I would not at all mind if the main character of DA3 is set an elf or a kossith or a dwarf with no option to pick your race again, although I fully expect some people would scream bloody murder at it. I won't mind if they have us playing a human, but I think it'd be more fun (and it'd be possible to show some of the real racial divisions in Thedas) to play a game that's actually tailored to a different race./
I'm not interested in playing as the Warden or Hawke again.
Edit: actually if the devs really decide to mess with the player, they could have you start out as a member of some previously unknown race like the Fex. Probably won't happen, but it'd be interesting if it did.
