I would like it to be something to where like Hawke and The Warden have met but you can chose which one to play as and then u have the other in your party or as a bystander. I think htye should do this just to wrap up both their stories and then continue with the series into something else.

New character.

I would have loved to continue the Dragon Age story with my Warden, but c'est la vie. And I don't want to play Hawke in DA3. If I can only choose one race, I'd rather play a human, elf, or dwarf. (Please don't force me to play a Qunari.) Can't be the OGB, because OGB isn't canon (though might make an interesting potential, optional party member).

In some future installment (da3, novel, dlc or whatever), I would like to see some consequences/closure to some of the previously introduced conflicts, such as the dark ritual, the Architect, and the mage war.

If DA3 must be an entirely new conflict with minimal ties to the previous games, then I would prefer a conflict set in and around Tevinter/Minrathous. If I can't pick my race or origin or anything, then having a Tevinter background is currently the most interesting to me.

Well Mr. Laidlaw just confirmed it will be a New Character if there ever is a DA3. So that settles that question.

there was no confirmation, it's just what it's likely to happen.

And actually, I'm just thinking, if we do play as someone else in DA3 or maybe even DA4 it should no longer be DA it should be something else or based way off in like Nevarra or smoething. Becasue its only named DA because it is THE Dragon Age.

I am all for a whole new character. And it would be even better if they threw in a love triangle.
Oh, the possibilities of that mess!

Either Hawke or the Warden. The OGB is too young by the end of DAII and DA3 will most certainly involve both the Warden and Hawke.

Hey everybody, why not just have a new character and Hawke and the Warden as companions?????
That way everyone's happy.

I don't think many people would be happy about that.

A character that is down to earth and a part of the world. Not some divine ninja fighting waves of weaklings. A middle ground between DA:O and DA2 where the only way to move is to put one foot before the other.

If it is customizable, I would prefer it unvoiced, as a voiced character = sacrifice of content and all characters feeling the same. It's like a fixed hairstyle or skin color.

And perhaps major consequences that take place during the game and not in an epilogue.

I'd take the words of the lead designer as close enough to a confirmation.

Not trying to ****** on anyone's canon here but seeing as the 'default' Warden and Hawke were a warrior and mage respectively I say DA3 focus on a rogue type character and storyline. Maybe a thieves guild member, a spy, or a smuggler who does something great because of circumstance and how the story plays out.

whats the story of DA3? Not one knows.. Only thing we know it MIGHT take us to Orlais,it MIGHT.

My rogues did well in DA2, what ever you think is there is a mirage, don't trust it. :P

Well by now we should all know it's gonna be a new character. Would have been my choice regardless. My Warden's busy raising a god-child with Morrigan and while I'd like to find out how that works out for all involved, like I said, the guy's busy. The only thing I want to do with Hawke is burn Kirkwall to the ground, leave not one stone of it upon another, and sow the land around it with salt. <_<

I agree that the best choice would be to play as Morrigan's child. If you didn't do the ritual, she could just obtain the dragon's power some other way, you have to think she'd have a backup plan with something that important on the line. It just seems so incredibly appropriate to play as Morrigan's child, particularly given the similarities between that character and the main character from BG2.

If we're just going for something completely new instead, then I like the idea of playing as an Orlesian, as 'unknown and undefined' as you can get. Give me Cassandra, Bethany, and Shale as teammates/LIs, with as much Morrigan, Leliana, and Flemeth in the main storyline as possible, and I'll be very happy. Let me visit Tevinter at some point in the game and I'll be happier still :) . But the bottom line is, either Morrigan's child or a totally unknown Orlesian (they dont even have to be 'from' Orlais per se, just so long as they're there now, for the main part of the game). Either way should just be tons of fun!

Most of my wardens are dead by the end of DA:O so I would prefer it if they didn't do a zombie-shuffling routine in DA3 =)

I think it would be too easy to have Morrigan get the child without the warden, it had to be someone tainted but newly tainted. How many of those were around at the time? Alistair and the warden unless I'm mistaken. I think it's better that those who did the ritual get the OGB and those who didn't don't. Otherwise it's just a choice without different concequences for going different ways.

When my warden helped with the ritual I want a mention of the OGB. When my warden said no then I really don't want a OGB.

I don't have any huge preference between Warden, Hawke or a new character, as long as it fits the story, and the voice acting (assuming they do this) is good.

I would have preferred my Warden - not just because I enjoyed Origins that much, but because I still don't really have a clue what happened to him. All I know is that I went through the Eluvian on my canon Warden, but I have absolutely zero idea what happens after. I would be perfectly happy playing as a new PC so long as my Warden's storyline receives some basic form of closure.

And if we aren't going to hear anything else about our Wardens again, it would be nice to receive some form of official confirmation so that we can make up what happens .

Since Hawke and the Warden won't be in it, I definately want a choice of possible characters with different backgrounds. I don't want to be shoehorned into a character as we were with DA2. I would have preferred to return to the Warden, but I didn't expect it since the hated (by me) dialogue wheel is unlikely to go away. God, I hate that thing. Ah, well....
