I've moved this topic from another forun as it has become increasing likely to be a technical issue:

I'll soon be ready to start the suicide mission, having completed all the loyalty missions and all the DLCs. I have the loyalty of all the squad members except Zaeed and Jack, and a review of the squad screen confirms this. But when I look at the achievements screen, to my horror most of the loyalty achievements are greyed out, including Miranda, who I've started a romance with. Paradoxically, the 'loyalty of Jack' achievement is lit up, despite the fact that I lost it after siding with Miranda during their 'argument'. I've also noticed that the 'Paramour' achievement is greyed out, despite starting a romance with MIranda.

Have any others encountered this problem? Is this a known issue? If so is there a fix for it? Please help as I'm concerned this could affect my chances in the suicide mission, even though the squad screen says all but two companions are loyal.

My pc is running on Windows 7 SP1 and my game is patched up to date.

You acheivements have no impact on how the SM will play out.
It sounds like your Player1.prf file became corrupted somehow, normally its due to a crash while playing the game. All we can suggest is to backup the file regularly so nothing untowards happens to it.
You can also check out the Mass Effect wiki to learn how to do a keybind and how to edit your coalesced.ini to grant you those missing acheivements again.

I see now what has caused all my achievements to grey out. Back in March I installed the game onto a new Windows 7 pc and transferred my game saves from my old Windows xp pc so I could continue playing from where I left off.

Last week I did a complete recovery of my new pc due to a suspected virus attack (I couldn't access any Wiki websites to look into modifying the appropriate files to fix the original problem) . As a consequence I've lost 14 hours of game time on ME2 but another thing I've noticed is that ALL the achievements are greyed out.

It seems that when you re-install the game the game saves alone are not enough to recover the achievement data, and that such data must reside on another file. Does anybody know which file this is?

It's called player1.prf and it's in a subdirectory of the save directory (sorry, not at my home pc right now for the specifics).

Ok thanks I'll give that a try. But do you agree with Bogsnot1 that the data contained in the player1.prf file does not affect how the suicide mission plays out?

Hmmm...not sure. I could test it maybe, but it would take some time. Have no idea really. Sorry.

I guess it would depend on where your squadmate loyalties were stored, as there is a definite impact on loyalty vs succes in the SM. You said your loyalties are still "sticking", so I'd say he was right (he usually is).

Loyalty is stored in the actual save game. It may effect how you can play with bonus powers, and might effect the bonus experience you get from completing multiple plays. But generally speaking, the actual achievements don't mean much game wise.
