Do you think the Warden will be the main character for Dragon age 3?

I really hope so, however there are some reasons why it could not happen.

Reasons for;

1. Many people feel more connected to the warden than any other character.
2. It would ensure the loyalty of those who purchased Origins, therefore more £££££££
3. If Shepard can be imported, then so can the Warden.

Reasons Against;

1. Not everyone played Origins.
2. DA3 is almost certainly going to be voiced.Posted Image

Could it be possible to do something like in Awakening where you could import your Warden or start from scratch?

It'd take a little retconning to have The Warden in ME3. He/she can be dead after origins or went with Morrigan into the eluvian after witch hunt. Cassandra/Leliana seem to imply they searched as much for the Warden as for Hawke so obviously he/she is very important in trying to solve the current crisis.

Personally I'd like to see both Hawke and the Warden in DA3. This would be especially interesting if you import a mage Warden and a Hawke who sided with the templars.

Personally I'd like to have the choice. If you want a voiced protagonist you can import & play as Hawke, if not then you play the Warden.

Nope.

Different art style so they won't be able to import the Warden without destroying their face, also if the Warden is voiced people will whine, and if the Warden isn't voiced people will whine. For the record though I didn't feel any connection the Warden at all so...

I certainly wouldn`t mind it, but I seriously doubt it will happen.
The effort needed to account for all the choices the player has made, races/origins chosen and voices to match, simply seems overwhelming to me.

I think they`d have to canonize some things for the Warden ever again be a major part of the story, which would be ok with me if they just went out and announced their choices and intentions.

I hope not. The Warden's story has already been told. Let's have something new.

Thats true, but you could subsitute the Hero of Ferelden with an Orleasan Warden Commander a la Awakenings. Would require some alternative dialogue in spots depending on how dynamic they want to make it however.

Besides, it isn't as though bringing back main characters from potential death is taboo to these writers.

No, because there are just too many variables, and not everybody might even have played Origins. Bioware wouldn't make a game that only people who ended origins a certain way could play.

So many new people were introduced to the series because of DA2, so I don't think they are going to bring the Warden back as a PC.

Maybe an NPC.

Maybe an abomination!

I highly doubt it. For one, DA3 is most likely going to have a voiced protagonist. For two, after DA:O and all of its DLCs, there are too many variables for the Warden to be a viable character option. It would make planning the storyline a nightmare.

No, and I think people need to start accepting that the Warden's role as a main character concluded with Witch Hunt, as unsatisfying as that was.

Don't Know.

Doing so is not impossible, but difficult.
It would have to be transfered with the art style, although i don't know if they'll keep that Art Style giving Mixed/Negative reception(well pretty much everything about DA2 was received with Mied/negative reception, except for that S***ty Overrated Battle System).

the main obstacle would be the voice acting, as it would require up to 6 voice actors, although that shouldn't be a problem if they have nd, most importantly, care and love for their gme(Saints Row 2 did the same thing, hell F***ing Dungeon Siege III did something similar).

But i don't know, giving the the incredible amount of people who want him/her back (Not many here though).

But all i know is that i never want to play as that DipS**t Hawke, i don't care who i control as long as i don't control Hawke, EVER again.

Eh. I love my Warden but her time is up. Cameos are good and fine, but anymore than that and it feels like setting a dead horse on fire while dragging it behind another horse, and beating both horses as you race in a horse race.

I think it's far more likely we'll see a new character, after finishing up with Hawke via DLC. That would make me super happy.

I'd be surprised if he/she was, the Warden's story was tied to the Blight and Loghain's machinations and both story elements are essentially complete. I think we'll play as someone new, even Hawke's part in the overall story seems almost over. Whether we'll see anything of either or both of them in DA3 is another matter.

I feel the Warden's story has already been told and using the same main character over and over again gets repetitive. A new main character for each new game means a new story new history and new ways at looking at the world

One of the major selling points of the Dragon Age series is that it is the history of Thedas, not just the story of one character.

Lets get through Exalted Marches first, then see what can be developed for DA3 (speaking of which, is it just me or is Exalted Marches possibly a play on words as much as a potential title: ie Free Marches...)

Most people probably won't even remember their Wardens by the time DA3 comes out.

I don't understand how people can get so connected to the warden or any character they're not real they aren't your friends or loved ones

People get invested in the story. A good tale makes the characters as alive as if they were friends or loved ones. I know when I pick up a favorite book or game again after a while, it feels like visiting old friends. It becomes even more immediate when one has a hand in creating a character. It's just a part of human nature, generally speaking.

I don't want to be a warden, let alone the warden.

In the end, it's a "your milage may very" kind of thing. Some people get more involved than others, nothing wrong with either approach, as long as one's not naming their children after the characters... Wait, I did that :), but no, it wasn't a DA character. It was a title character in a book series I liked. I have never named a child after an RPG character I personally created. I'm not that close to being a character in "The Guild".
