Do you think the Warden will be the main character for Dragon age 3?

I think I'm kind of done with DA.
It was fun but...I actually like having a relatively consistent protagonist.
So I don't think I'd like them going that route again.

I'm not sure if this is a legitmate question or antagonizing remark, but yes, there is plenty to the story which would suggest this.  If this was meant as sarcasim, they ignore my reply. Haha.

Not sarcasm, I just never got that impression. I was wondering if I had missed something.

I believe there was a prominent remark at the end of the game during Varrics final tale to the Seeker.  Also Witch of the wilds (Flemeth) somewhat hints at it, but that could be considering getting more information from something then whats there.  Is that true or am I peices together things wrong without context, I can't be sure.

You aren't the only one to get this feeling though I'd use the word collected rather than recruited. Note also that Merric disappeared at sea, and I'm pretty sure they didn't have a body for him according to lore. It makes one think...

Let the Warden and Hawke at least have a cameo in Dragon Age III.

Hawke i can understand in DA3 if they are going to use the default look, but The Warden will be tricky to use since he/she was a multi-race protagonist in Origins...

Hawke can fall off a cliff for all I care, I want The Warden back.

And if The Warden isn't coming back, give me another main character I can build from the ground up similar to the Warden without it being forced like Hawke.

The only issue is, what if the Warden is an elf? Since the elves were redesigned with DA2, they'd have to either A: attempt to "morph" the Warden's head to fit into the new elven look (if such a thing is even possible), or B: have one elven character who's appearance is now totally inconsistent with every other elf.

Which leads to me believe there's very little chance of the Warden ever making another appearance.

Or they could make the e.....ahh, let me leave the "DA2 elves are dehydrated, bring back DAO elves" discussion to another thread.

Anyway, you have a point.

Nah ! Do not worry, I was ironic. :D

Some people simply do not understand that if they like Hawk, sometimes more than the Warden ( and sometimes they say that they didn't like the warden, what it is a bit weird ) that's because it's a reaction compared to the game, compared to what he is, what he represents and how he operates. How they could connect to him or not.

Exactly the same reasons as those who don't like Hawk. It's a matter of subjectivity based also on fact and concern in the game.
And you will never see the warden again, sorry. :crying:

I DID love the warden too. But my hope of finding him had been dead for the first time that I knew Ferelden would not return in DA2 and that it will b a different story. This is a long time ago that I resigned myself, so I do not feel anything today. Fortunately. :)

Leliana's too busy doing the Maker's Good Work to waste on a mere mortal like the Warden Commander

Not if she was in love with the Warden, still i miss Oghren from Origins especially the witty banter between him and Anders.

I don't know, but if the Warden gets brought back in redesigned form- shoeless and looking like a starved goat- I hope one of the awesome buttons is labeled Seppuku.

In my game the Warden is now a King and doesnt have time for random adventures. And Hawke is a Viscount so it has to be something new or my timeline will be broken.(Although this allready happened with Leliana's revival so had to play both games again).Seeing that Sandal is going to Orlais court and there is no Dragon Age without Enchantment?? Some Orlesian noble is a posibility?Although having a Protagonist with that accent may produce suicides in a certain degree.

In my opinion I really loved DA2. I think both default male and female were also very well designed.

I felt that Da2 ended abruptly with questions in relation to Hawke and his
or her story. I really want to know why the seeker is searching for Hawke and let’s
not forget the companion who refused to leave Hawke’s side. There is a lot of
things to sum up don’t get me wrong, but I personally liked Hawke’s story and
would love for it to be continued. Another point of interest would be the Grey Wardens of course, but It's all more the reason to keep Hawke.

I also would love to see more of Hawke + Isabela<3

Hawk's story will continue in the DLC / expansion.

Personally I hope we will not find the same romance in DA3. None of them really captivated me.

She thinks mages/templars would listen to Hawke and stop fighting. Which I hope doesn´t happen, I never felt Hawke was charismatic enough to pull off such a thing, and that a conflict that has been brewing for centuries could end because one person asked one of the sides (and the other side has reasons to dislike Hawke a lot) would cheapen the whole story.

About changing main characters each game, I think it will hurt the overall narrative of the saga. It´s not just a matter of having proper closure, but here we have a story where plots, themes and supporting characters can keep appearing and developing without an actual central figure, so there´s a big risk it will feel too disconnected. Da2 already felt more of a spin off than a sequel, or part of a cycle. No offense intended, but I don´t think the writing team is that good to make it work.

I really hope the Warden returns in DA3. After Witch Hunt, the Wardens story seems far from finished. (in at least one ending option of Witch Hunt anyway)

WH was more or less one huge teaser, that left the strong impression that there was more perril for the Warden and Morrigan yet to face.

For me the Warden and Morrigan comming back would be strong sellings points of DA3. If they're both there I'd most certianly buy it preorder. Other great DAO characters would likewise make great selling points as well, Warden & Morrigan just happens to be my personal faverorites.

OTOH if it's just more Hawke stuff - well to be perfectly honest there's a lot of great games out there and only so little time. I'd probably get around to it, once it started being heavily discounted on steam, but probably not sooner.

At the end of the day it's up to Bioware to decide if they want to capitalize on the substancial and rediculessly loyal DAO fan base, or they want to continue the experimental flirt with the more casual gamer segment that was the main target of DA2.

I doubt I'm the only DAO fan that feels this way.

All this is nice but Bioware has stated that it will be a new Character for DA 3.

You're not, but why do you think more Warden + Morrigain is what will collect on that fanbase? I want Bioware to stop wrecking my character and give me a Flemeth-centric story or one where we explore the origins of the blight/Fade.

Sooner or later Bioware must make a recap on every character and make a ultimate end of their story. For example it must be an end for the warden and hawke story.

oh and don´t bother argue that "witch hunt" is the end of the wardens journey. Because it sure as hell wasn´t.

Hopefully it could be at least two more games that will ultimatly conclude the warden and hawke´s story, Then everyone will be happy

That's fairly easy to answer, judging from the developer comments here.

They're making the game more 'accessible' because Dragon Age: Origins was 'busted', so the so-called 'accessibility crowd' takes precedence.

Or did anyone here, as 'core fans' of the franchise, really find Dragon Age: Origins to be too difficult to understand? I certainly don't think they plan on making future titles 'more accessible' for 'us'.

Origins wasn't difficult, but it was clunky.  Combat was smoothed out, and skills removed ,as with few exceptions they were useless, for example. Also the revamp of crafting was most appreciated as that's another thing I didn't have to carry around in an already overloaded backpack.

Rather than paraphrasing developer comments to the point where they don't even say what the Dev meant anymore, why not post the whole quote? No developer said Origins was "busted", they said that there were systems in Origins that weren't working as well as they'd have liked, thus they were changed for DA2.
