Do you think the Warden will be the main character for Dragon age 3?

Bioware has stated that neither the Warden or Hawke are going to the main character in DA 3. The Warden story is done.

Would you mind providing a link? It's not that I don't believe you, I'd just want to see what other things the devs have said.

I don't remember the link for this but what they said is wrong. Hawke/Warden will not be the main protagonist but that doesn't mean they won't have a role in future installments. That is the jist of what was said. No mention of the warden's story being "done".

well im happy as long as we continue to get new protagonists instead of ignoring the warden and playing hawke forever.

one last question which has been beaten to death, can i ever play as an elf or dwarf again? qunari would be nice as well but id settle for the dwarf and elf return

As much as I enjoyed my city elf Warden I'd rather the writers continue to develop Hawke. The Legacy DLC was a good start. I still want to play as this guy

No, I don't  the Warden back in Dragon Age III, besides some of my Wardens made the ultimate sacrifice and they are dead. While I'm sure some would love to play as a Zombie Warden. I, for one, would really HATE playing Dragon Age III as a zombie.

They referenced that the warden and morrigan might make a cameo together in one of the q&as...that made my day.

my one argument with this is why, then, did they even give me the option to keep the warden alive? if you saved the warden with Morrigan's help, then that should have huge repercussions on the world in which DA takes place. granted, you don't necessarily have to play AS the warden to resolve this storyline, but it does seem like a pretty big deal. on of my big fears for DA3 is that all we'll get out of this seemingly huge ordeal is a conversation with some random person where he says, "oh yeah, have you heard about the demon-spawn offspring of the greatest hero of our time and one of the most powerful mages in the world. yeah, i heard a rumor that he's running around here somewhere."

demon-spawn offspring

Actually he's some guy with the soul of an ancient dragon. Which doesn't really have an effect anywhere except the Fade.

But unfortunately i think he is going to be swept under the rug.

Since I'm in a sharing mood, I will put this out there: our intention is that for each major release of Dragon Age, you will take up the mantle of a new character. This does not mean your old character may never appear in future games, but as far as the core protagonist goes, if there is a DA III, it will very likely be neither Hawke nor The Warden.

We want to keep the series about the time and place, rather than about any singular character. While I know not everyone prefers that approach, I believe it's perfectly valid, especially if certain plans of ours to shore up world consistency (import bugs really bother me!) come to fruition, which I believe they will.

And that's all I can say about that.

YAY! On several counts. :) I don't mind this method at all. It's an interesting and different take. To make the story about the PLACE not the person(s). I throughly enjoy that aspect of the games. I'm also excited that you mentioned the consistency. The import bug REALLY REALLY bother me as well. I want nothing more than for these to be fixed entirely. If the dialogue doesn't match up, if it doesn't fit what's supposed to have happened, it leaves the player feeling very unfulfilled and detached. And if you're not attached to the world you're trying to build, then why play in it? :)

I don't mind Hawke not being the main character next time, but I'm hoping he/she will at least be a party member. Dragon Age II is nothing but the set-up for a sequel. Hawke's story isn't done - and this isn't some small plot thread, but an entire second half. It seems like a waste to set Hawke up as this incredibly important person who must be found in order to set things right if we're never going to see it come to fruition. I'd like the Warden to come back too, but it seems like all we'll ever get are one-line references.

its DA after all its full of zombies ^^
flemeth comes back too after iv'e slain her tho
and there's still lots of magic available we haven't even seen or heard about
mb they'll all time travel back to  the same moment in time where the battle of ostagar took place and mb all the events are from their own doin so
just one way to create a window for the writers to  6 use any ending u can come up with into the further future of the storyline
bottomline is, it doens"t matter how u played it its how the writers will evolve the storyline and how creative they are with the given facts molding 220000 endings into a coherent decent storyline isn't gonna be easy tho but since they reduced the race choice down to 1 i think thats what they are trying to do
reducing it all to 1 branch so its manageable to write around
the ball is round, the direction anywhere
EDIT: who knows mb there is no story XD

i thought the title of this is endorsement is clear on that its about an age of dragons not about 1 or 2 people
yet that doenst mean the plots, facts or details shouldn't add up its just a matter of some creative writing to make it all add up in the end even tho some things seem completely out of context nothing is canon untill the story's been told ( lucky) lets just hope they don't screw up

I wish they will never make another hero that compares to the Warden no matter how hard they try. Theirs nothing I want more then the return of my warden. I dont want him as some little cameo or something either, if im not in control of him he shouldnt be their. As for people saying that importing him would destroy his face, they could just let us go straight to a face customize screen with his face as a preset so we can fix it to our standard easy fix :D.
To mine, and many others disappointment, they have already announced that while the Warden is important to current events he isnt returning as the hero in DA3. Instead we'll get an all new hero. In my opinion this new hero crap is getting old. I dont want to spend sixty hours making a character in one game so I can start over again in the next. Its redundant :(. I want to be able to import the hero ive spent all my time with, and go from their. Their cant be a new hero to step up everytime the world needs saving otherwise everyone would be extraordinary. Besides having a new hero undermines the importance and epicness of previous heros.

Im sorry im ranting. I just want my Warden back. He was the best and no one will ever top them. Why dont you give us what we want Bioware, at least make it an option.

Most likely not. From now on they'll probably just stay with the typical human main character just because they don't feel like implementing other ones. -_-

If by we you mean you... then yes, 'we' want the warden back.

For myself, I couldn't care less. I've always had a problem with the idea that one person can go through so much crap over and over when there is a whole goddamned world out there.
