Do you think the Warden will be the main character for Dragon age 3?

They recorded 2 different voice actors for Shepard. All we need is 3 more for DA3 and we can have a voiced Warden. One for the Human origin, 1 for both the Dalish and City Elf origin, and 1 for both the Commoner and Noble Dwarf origin, and 1 female VA for any female origin, one who can do both a general American accent for the Dwarfs/Elfs and a British accent for Fereldens.
I think there should be one male who can do them all and 3 different females<_<
Why do you want to short change the ladies like that?

Thanks for the news, and for clearing the air. Now we just need to tell everyone, so there aren't 10 million new posts everyday with this same topic.
And P.S., I'm thrilled with the idea of a new protagonist for DA3. I loved my Wardens, and I loved femHawke (male Hawke, not so much), but it wouldn't make sense to the story to keep Hawke, or try to bring back a Warden. It's a good call.

I feel that a voiced character with paraphrasing ruins the point in a custom character, for all the sliders in the CC, Hawke was still the same character.

Since I'm in a sharing mood, I will put this out there: our intention is that for each major release of Dragon Age, you will take up the mantle of a new character. This does not mean your old character may never appear in future games, but as far as the core protagonist goes, if there is a DA III, it will very likely be neither Hawke nor The Warden.
We want to keep the series about the time and place, rather than about any singular character. While I know not everyone prefers that approach, I believe it's perfectly valid, especially if certain plans of ours to shore up world consistency (import bugs really bother me!) come to fruition, which I believe they will.
And that's all I can say about that.
All I hope for is that Hawkes tale gets a deserving end.

Ok fine. I only said that because all the female VA's for the player sound the same to me. Wasn't trying to be mean.rak72 wrote...

I for one continue to believe that DA3 will have the Godbaby as the PC. Assuming DA3 will take place several years after DA2, it's more than believable the Godbaby would be of age. It's also a character more like the Warden where you can sort of carve them out and shape them. Of course, that would also involve some retcons if your Warden turned Morrigan down, but not ones impossible to overcome.

Still, I hope we get quite a bit more Hawke first.
I feel less need to play as the Warden again as I felt that with the Warden you had a real chance of getting closure, either with Morrigan, defeating the archdemon etc. With a bigger original game+awakenings+DLC, thats enough for me.
But with Hawke, you had less original game/world to explore, and the game finished on a cliffhanger and no resolution. Now I know thats partly due to events and the start of the war, but there is no reason not to have some personal closure for Hawke.
So, before we move on, I would like some substantial post-endgame DLC/awakenings-style expanion that brings the Hawke character some proper closure (and a chance to meet and romance Cassandra if possible...)

This!
I know, hoping for something the size of Awakenings is probably asking too much, but something double the size of Legacy, perhaps? And just as good as Legacy. That would be brilliant.
Then I would really looking forward to playing a new character in DA3. Oh, and I'd love to play a non-human, an elf or a dwarf, but please, no Qunari!

Well I must admit that doing a DLC where Hawke finds a Mirror and pokes it with his murder knife at the precise moment Morrigan is backing out of it (away from the Warden on the other side) would be pretty funny.

I don't mind not having the Warden (but i want to see the Warden again), but i definitely want a Silent Protagonist. If DA3 has a voiced PC, I will be extremely dissapointed.
I want a silent protagonist too. Without the voice it seems that you live the story in first person, with the voice it feels like you are just seeing a movie from afar.

He has to solve the war between templar and mages at least. Then we can go on with DA3 and take care of the darkspawn/ancient magisters/blight topic.

i am disappointed by this news. it seems silly for every game to have a new person that's supposed to be the strongest guy in the world. also, despite other people's opinions, the story of the warden felt very unfinished to me. there's still a lot of questions to be answered regarding the whole Morrigan situation. if they don't bring him back as a playable character, then i at least want to find out what the hell happened to him.
Agree with you that's why I'm personally disappointed and as someone said looks a bit FF with a new protagonist every game and having Warden, Hawke and new protagonist all about at the same time just seems a little daft. Oh well suppose if I don't like it when all the details about DA3 come out I don't have to buy it.

The end to DA2 is the biggest let down of an ending Bioware has ever delivered. (I didn't play Shattered Steel or that Sonic game though).

I'd like a game where you bounce inbetween hawke and the warden in different settings and it leads to a climax and depending on your choices, your PC for the final act will be one and the other will be a companion. just throwing that out there. i like the warden but i dont want them in the new art style. I **** about the new art and graphics a lot but the one thing about it that i did like was the Warden armor. if they made it a more dark silver with black instead of bright blue then that would be kick ass. Im willing to see whatever they do as long as they change the dam art and graphicsjcrusader wrote...
I really hope so, however there are some reasons why it could not happen.
Reasons for;
1. Many people feel more connected to the warden than any other character.
2. It would ensure the loyalty of those who purchased Origins, therefore more £££££££
3. If Shepard can be imported, then so can the Warden.
Reasons Against;
1. Not everyone played Origins.
2. DA3 is almost certainly going to be voiced.
Could it be possible to do something like in Awakening where you could import your Warden or start from scratch?

Does that mean there is a possibility of a DLC featuring Hawke's death? I would pay ten bucks to make sure that happened.
I'll pay $14.99 to see my Hawke kill you're hawke and show how pathetic s/he really was
right now am not sure if I should leave and only show up when story DLC is been sold or leave for good. yes thats how the world works. don't like it, leave.
I'll leave for today getting upset already.
