Do you think the Warden will be the main character for Dragon age 3?

I'm reading way too much into this, but I'm taking this as more confirmed DLC or an expansion!
I'm pretty sure more DLC is a given. I kind of doubt we'll be seeing an expansion though.

That's assuming that they'll butcher the appearances of these characters with another aesthetic redesign.
Honestly, I can easily see Morrigan's God Baby being the driving force that binds all these plot arcs I mentioned into a climatic conclusion.
Most of my wardens choose to die rather than live with OGB doom lurking in the background.
If it is made canon...I don't know how the reaction will be.

The only "solution" I've thought of that makes any sense at all is de-linking accents and race, because that didn't make much sense anyway, and tie it to a location.
Social class aside, there's little reason why a City Elf, Surface Dwarf, or Human from the same place couldn't or shouldn't sound the same.
Then you could have a Rashomon-style "origin" for each of them, which covers the same event in the same place from different perspectives.
Bam. Voiced protagonist, racial options, and origins.
They've already de-linked accent and from race in some instances. Zevran and Fenris, for instance, don't have Welsh or Canadian accents. They have Antivan (Spanish) and Tevinter (..whatever theirs is) accents.

personally, to have the same voice for all the origins doesn't bother me at all if the game takes into account the origin. ( different interactions with npc, different lines, etc. )Filament wrote...

Also Sketch if i remember right; recognized even in the codex entries to lack the typical accent of the city elves. Then there's Erlina... and all other characters from Orlais, obv.Filament wrote...

If you can have lyrium tattoo's that let you crush internal organs, no reason this wouldn't work, toss a few "you sound diffrent" & "what happand to my accent?" jokes in and you're golden, took me bout a minute to solve that, get off yer ass bioware

Well, I guess it could be remedied if Bioware allowed the played to customize the warden's face before starting the game. Of course having this option at the beginning of the game would take away from the surprise factor of the cameo, but I guess it would be totally worth it as it would please lots of fans that miss their wardens.
Also, even for those that used mods to change the character's appearence in origins (and thus their appearences couldn't be replicated) the different looks could be explained by the fact that many years have passed (the character is much older now).
They could use the same voice actors that voiced the wardens "battle cries", or at least use the voices of the most popular "voice set" (one of these: cocky, Experienced, Mystical, Smart, Suave, Sultry, Violent or Wise).
In order to avoid the warden acting in a way he/she shouldn't, the customizing screen could also allow the players to choose a set personality.
I know it would be complex to implement all this, but, again, it would please a lot of fans, including some that were not so pleased with DAII.
For the record, I love both DAO and DAII.

If your warden dies, you can still have Morrigan discover a means to gain that god baby prior to WH. Maybe after she left you, she went to rediscover another means to find another old god's spirit? I doubt Morrigan would have just given up after your refusal.

I don't get the Hawke hate either, I LOVE Hawke.
A third protagonist for DA3? While it makes sense, I don't like it for now. However, I'm waiting to see what will be in store. (story, race, etc...) But I really really hope for some of the companions in DAO/A and DA2 to come back and set as companions (Morrigan, Fenris, Sigrun...). Just like Garrus and Liara will in ME3 (I know, not the same game, but you know what I mean)

The import system from Origins isn't the same as the one in Mass Effect (which I don't understand why, because the Mass Effect one consumed way less memory).
I don't know if the Warden has much of a story (as far as my humble self can tell oh Lord Gaider) other than the Eluvian arc.
The Warden felt way more personal than Hawke.

That doesn't sound too complex actually. I guess it would be a compromise I'd be willing to take to play the Warden again...Funny_chan wrote...

I'll do you the favor of not linking to the Morrigan face morph people found within DA2's files. Just pray that it was a placeholder or a rightfully scrapped work in progress because its truly terrible.
As much as I'd like to see something come of the OGB, unless BioWare devotes Witcher 2 level resources into that aspect of diverging choices/consequences with the Dark Ritual and the Eluvian, I'd rather they not bother with anything Morrigan related. The DR was supposedly the biggest choice of Origins and unless you killed your Warden off, there is zero consequence to that choice.

My imagination is open but that is too much of a stretch.
It takes decades/centruries for the DS to find one and dig em out. Not only would she have to find one, dig it out she'd have to kill it while being newly...um with child of a warden? Not just any warden would do, it would have to be a newly created one since the taint slowly takes a toll on the warden.
I suppose anything is possible but egad.

I'm glad to hear the news, I too prefer a brand new lead character for DA3. I think Morrigan's child would make an excellent main character, similar to BG2, but whoever it is, so long as they're interesting, I'll be happy with them. Of course there's still plenty of room for other characters to return, whether its Morrigan, Leliana, Flemeth, Bethany, Cassandra, Merrill, Varric, they'd all be quite welcome in DA3, just so long as the main character is new, I'm happy.
For most of my PT:s of DA:O this would be a bit of a problem. No child for Morrigan and one very dead warden
Keeping my fingers crossed for the return of my FemHawkes but I'll play whatever they give me.

Since I'm in a sharing mood, I will put this out there: our intention is that for each major release of Dragon Age, you will take up the mantle of a new character. This does not mean your old character may never appear in future games, but as far as the core protagonist goes, if there is a DA III, it will very likely be neither Hawke nor The Warden.
We want to keep the series about the time and place, rather than about any singular character. While I know not everyone prefers that approach, I believe it's perfectly valid, especially if certain plans of ours to shore up world consistency (import bugs really bother me!) come to fruition, which I believe they will.
And that's all I can say about that.
Replying to this very, very late; but if you fix the import bugs (and pretty please let that include the cameos in DA2) I will make a horde of hand-made DA stuffies and cookies for the entire dev team. (Yes, it would make me that happy. I admit it, I love this series.

Merrill is the only elf with a Welsh accent. The rest are either American/Canadian? or Irish. Fenris' accent is really unique, it's English with a little South African in there.
