I am unable to go from "Ortan Thaig" to "Dead Trenches" in underground Orzammar levels. When I try to exit into area that says Dead Trenches it returns me to world map without the new place to go to. Anyone know how to fix this bug or how to get past this point? Thanks for any advice!

More information is needed to help you with this. See the read first thread pinned to the top of this forum. Listing game version and mods(if any) is particularly important. Also, as a quick check, make sure you are using the correct exit from that thaig and have found/read Branka's notes that send you there. If you have failed to find and read her notes or are using the wrong exit the area will nit open for you.

It turned out to be Branka's notes! They were right by the exit too! Thanks for the help, I was gonna stop playing it becuase of this issue so I am happy to be able to continue playing!
