Who says anything about sidelining Liara? Aria would obviously be a temp squad for one important mission to her story

He said it was a placeholder -- not Liara's place holder. Liara already has a place holder in the ME3 demo, so why would they need to redesign her place holder? 

It's gotta be another asari.

probably because she's not your typical angelic asari and in the books/comics she kicks total ass...plus in ME2, for an unimportant NPC, she has a lot of stuff revolved around her....

that's what I think at least...

Maybe, but then again there's music from Afterlife playing the background. And BW's been setting up Aria big way in comics and books and in ME2. So I'm rather sure it's Aria.

I have no idea who it is. I haven't played the area she's working on in that clip, so I can't say it is Liara, Aria, unknown asari #743, etc. When we make games, we slot in whatever placeholder art is available. Just because it was an asari image, it may not have even been an asari squadmate, it could have been a human or krogan or whatever. It is much more likely that it represents "female squad member" than an actual asari squad member.

Still, have at the speculation till you see the real thing.

I'm a little hesitant to believe that since you said that legion wasn't a squadmate before ME2 came out. Also, there was the afterlife music playing through that episode. Afterlife + Aria looking asari, what could it mean?!?

Still, that asari squadmate image is new and we have never seen it. So it's either:

-You don't want to give information away. Probably this.

-It's just a placeholder.

But why would you put a placeholder image of some asari who has darker skin than Samara/Morinth or Liara, unless you don't actually have any new asari squadmates?

Besides as 100k said earlier. Liara already had a placeholder for the ME3 demo. And I find hardly beleivable that someone would edit the image and change her skin color.

So I'm going to speculate and keep saying it's possible it's a new asari squadmate.

Hope it's aria.
