It is painful to say as I love the series, but I will not be buying ME3 when it comes out. I was going to pre-order the most expensive edition but I have decided that, at most, I will be buying ME3 used. Bioware has refused to patch the porting issues from ME to ME2. The PC community can, and has, modded the game to port the saves correctly. That leaves people who play consoles high and dry. I cannot justify giving my money to a company that advertises my ability to shape my own universe and then tells me that my choices don't matter. I have spoken to several people offline who feel the same way so I wanted to see what the community thought.  So, what do you all think?

If Bioware doesn’t care about my choices in game, I wonder if they will care about my choices out of game?

>Edit<

People seem confused about what glitch I am talking about. I am talking about ALL of the porting bugs.

"The Fan"
"The Consort"
"Besieged Base" (Sirta Foundation)

Just look in the "Mass Effect 2 consequences" section of the missions to see which ones have glitches.

Meh..I'm more concerned about the direction the story and universe are taking.

They are starting to look must like the goo of the collector pods to me...which is to say, not attractive in the least.

Who makes patch for almost 4 year old game?

Seriously, it's a bug in ME1.
And you can modify XBOX 360 saves as well.

Only PS3 is left dry, since it doesn't even have ME1 do to Microsoft.

I've never had any porting issues. Considering how expansive the games are and how many times I've played them, I've never really had many issues at all.

Yeah me either, especially not porting issues. Maybe the OP is referring to some kind of PS3 problem.

Blizzard comes to mind.

And they have a reputation for quality and polish as a result.

Also, I do believe OP may be referring to decisions being recorded incorrectly, for example Conrad always thinking you threatened him in ME1. But I could be wrong

I can only think of one issue with my imports, and that was Conrad, which I liked anyway because it addeda neat little assignment. If there are others I'm not thinking of then please correct me haha.
This post seems to belong more in the DA2 forums, since there were so many bugs about characters saying the wrong things, especially Leliana. Although they might have corrected that by now, I didn't really think it was worth checking out since I wasn't gonna play again anyway.
And you do realise that since this is the final game in the series, this is the one were choices are
going to have a huge impact, rather than just emails and stuff. Therefore they are obviously going to make sure the ME2 imports carry on correctly.

Can't be a PS3 problem, there were none of the little issues that I think the OP is whining about that got ported. The only issue there was initially with the comic was Kaidan's pic showing up even if you had Liara or Ashley as your chosen LI, but that issue was resolved.

So I am going to guess he is purely referring to the 360, seeing as he mentioned how PC players can mod it. Last I recalled whilst not at all supported, can't 360 owners fiddle with a save using a PC and put it back in? If so, I don't see the issue.

I don't even really see it being a gamebreaking issue anyway because none of those choices are going to make that much of a deal other than some potential cameo stuff. If the OP thinks his complaint is going to warrant them looking at this issue after so long, then he really is a delusional fool.

Gamebreaking or not, there's no need to make excuses for Bioware. If they want to make statements about how amazing their game import function is, they should be committed to making sure decisions import correctly. That goes for both the import function as well as the initial recording of decisions. OP's not hurting anyone here, well except for the fanboys who can't handle the thought that Bioware may not actually be perfect and flawless in every way.

Right now Bioware have a lot of time left to catch these little bugs and address them. It doesn't hurt to remind them that some people do care about the little details.

The problem with his post is he actually didn't bring up anything specific so I don't know what he's talking about. He just said his choices don't matter, console players are left high and dry, and pc players can mod. That doesn't tell me anything.

Sorry if off topic, but how does the gibbed saves editor work? Does it only edit ME2 saves? Where can I get the most recent version. I found one that seems to be out of date, with few options.

Edit to add, I want to edit the ME1 plot points but they dont seem to be enabled

Have you read one of the interviews about ME3? Console versions will have (most probably, ) cosmetically worse graphics than the PC version. PC version is being done simuntaneously with consoles. So it'll be different on PS3 and X360 and it'll be different on PC. Anyway your loss pal. Crying for some old bug and things that are commonly done by every company is childlish.

Really, because from what I've read and seen the graphics are the same on all systems for ME3, and ME2 looks the best on the PS3 (probably because it came out like a year after it did for PC and 360).

So let me get this straight, Bioware screw up on importing ONE decision and that equates to "Bioware does not care about your choices in the game" ?  Yes the Conrad choice screw up was bad and it was compounded by the fact that they didn't fix it.  They didn't need to patch ME 1 they could have released a tool to fix it or engineered a situation in ME 2 where the correct flag became active.  So yes they deserve some flack for that but to go to an extreme of decrying that they don't care about choices and you will not buy Mass Effect 3 because of that ONE choice is an over reaction to say the least.

I guess at the end of the day you can't have enjoyed Mass Effect 1 or 2 that much if you are willing to ignore Mass Effect 3 over some small insignificant decision that didn't even affect the main story line.  As for me it will take a hell of a lot more than that to convince me to miss out on the conclusion of Shepards story.

Oh the Conrad bug. I got a solution for you. Threaten Conrad. Nothing says you are being an idiot like have a gun pointed in your face. Its not like a dead person coming back alive for no apparent reason at all, oh no, the Conrad bug is so much worse.

My solution arose simply from the threat of having him in sequels at all; I just don't ever talk to him ^_^

So not only would they have to patch a 4 year old game, but everyone would then have to start over with their imported characters in order for the changes to take effect. That seems like a lot of effort over Conrad. Were there any issues at all apart from Conrad?

Every other choice you made in ME1 correctly transferred into ME2, and the consequences of choices in ME1 and ME2 will occur in ME3. If you actually cared about choices you'd buy ME3 in order to see what the choices do.
