i havent read this whole thing, so somebody might have said this. playing as a paragon, in ME 2 i think the newscasters always say the sirta foundation suffered a debilitating massacre, even if you saved all the scientists hostages (ME1 paragon exclusive quest). so it's not just conrad.

Yes. It was mentioned a number of times already.

I had one single outstanding issue with the imports, tbh. But I guess it was my own fault. I imported my very first ME1 playthrough, which was stupid. And gay.

What happened? Well, I saved Kaidan instead of Ashley (as usual; I dislike Ashley's character). But, as it was my first playthrough, I failed to score with my LI (duh). So, as a male Shep, at the beginning of ME2, I got to see Kaidan (I assume VS replaces the LI) running around in the female Pink/White armor (WTF?!). And then, on Horizon, Kaidan referred to my MALE Shep as "She" and "Heroine" (note: the female form of hero, in case you thought of something else).

Awkward, to say the least. Oh, and I received the standard mail from him, but I cannot remember spending a night with him. Wasn't possible anyway.

I felt so awkward that I deleted that save immediately. But it was fail.

Yes, it truly is a travesty to see that Bioware ruined all of my choices from ME1 in ME2. All two of them. The two most important choices in the game and they dropped the ball.
Shameful. Posted Image

Due to this personal slight Bioware has made against me, I hereby refuse to purchase another Bioware game...until they release one.

ME2 was a big step down from ME1 in terms of writing, quests, choices, etc. ME1 had that epic feel to it where it was literally Shepard versus the reapers and the geth on a war of galactic scale.

ME2 on the hand felt extremely kitschy (I literally had to roll my eyes at the Human Reaper at the end. It seemed like something from a God of War game or an Indiana Jones movie) and Shepard basically became the team's babysitter rather than their leader which I found rather disappointing. I'm sure this wasn't lost on the game developers and can be explained with Shepards precarious existence outside of the main governmental bodies of the galaxy and within the shadowy folds of Cerberus while acting mostly in the Terminus system but I can't help but feel there would have been a way to incorporate more politics and more drama like that found in ME1. Some sort of interplay between the Alliance and Cerberus under Shepard would have been a good starting ground.

There are good things about ME2. No more landing on bland, empty planets with the same buildings, the same bunkers, and corridors. No more completely inadequate inventory system. Monotonous travel in the citadel and other locales, long elevator rides, were almost done away with.

A lot of people have said that ME2 is all about corridors and linear gameplay. I actually find this a great boon. It encourages repeat playthroughs, streamlines the gameplay, and does away with all the fluff that one would most generally find interesting only on their very first playthrough when everything is still mysterious and alluring i.e. landing on planets in the MAKO in ME1.

Don't get me wrong, it was cool to land on the planets and drive around exploring the question marks dotting the minimap but even on the 2nd playthrough, when you know exactly what those things are, driving around quickly becomes monotonous and even extremely annoying given the extremely jagged and almost impassable terrain of some planets.

I enjoyed ME2. I've beaten it 4 times in 6 days but I have some serious gripes with some of the mechanics found in it, none greater than planet scanning and upgrading. It's a good game but it seems forced at times and in lieu of actually implementing a galactic-wide story it just went with the safe and easy route of exploring the characters backstory. Being largely disjointed and not requiring to mesh with the lore created in ME1, it gave the game devs a lot of freedom to introduce new characters and locales. Maybe that's the point though. ME2, being the stepping stone between 1 and 3, could have (and probably was) made with the main objective of introducing as much content as possible for an epic ME3 that will draw mostly from ME1 and a little from ME2.

I understand your frustration-Though I think in total the series has turned out pretty darn good, the lack of post release support is borderline insulting to an otherwise great piece of entertainment.

I had written a post a while back calling for more post release support (other then just DLC) a while back-don't know if anybody from Bioware read it, and maybe was not as will written as it could have been.  You can take a look at it, or maybe write a version with better prose then I can muster.  Read it here.

Thanks for the support and I apologize for taking so long to reply. I was in an area without internet for a while.

I just don't know if they care about after-market support anymore......Posted Image

I have to call that into question, the Conrad Paragon bug has been fixed and Conrad Verner is still on Illium if you charmed him.  There is even an entirely different greeting cutscene if you charmed Conrad in Mass Effect 1.  You can see the Paragon greeting here :-

It is possible that the email happens if you never fully met Conrad all three times in ME 1 (that is just speculation on my part).  However the evidence is pretty clear that whether you charmed or intimidated Conrad in ME 1 he would still appear in ME 2.  The only difference between the two is how you are greated by the Asari bar tender and what Conrad says to you.

Edit :-

That was a custom mod bud.  See the wiki or better yet.  I'll bring the wiki to you.../../../images/forum/emoticons/cool.png

Ah I see some one tried to tell you that you were WRONG already and you just went "derp derp that is a mod".  It is NOT a mod all you do to get the Paragon greeting is FIX the Conrad flag that does not get flagged in ME 1, that is it.

YOu might not want to rely too much on the wiki, it is written by normal users and they can be wrong.  It doesn't even make sense to cut Conrad out of a paragon play through but keep him for a renegade play through.  The evidence suggests that Conrad is on illium regardless of whether you charmed or intimidated him.

Ok I said it was a custom mod because in the thread that guy had linked to his video he said that all he unchecked was the (3) renegade box. I'm no modder or programmer, but normally a sequence like that will record the required action AND what the outcome is supposed to be. So if he only unchecked the action the outcome would still be in the macro but without the reference to the renegade decision. I don't know. The only thing I know is that I saw Renegade Conrad in the bar, went to my ship, got the message about Paragon Conrad starting a charity with his wife on Earth, went back to the bar, and completed Renegade Conrad's mission in a Paragon way.

Side question. When did the glitch get patched? Because I'm still getting the same RENEGADE outcome (gun quote and all) on my 360 for my PARAGON play through.

Nope you can mod ME1/2 save files without getting banned seeing as you're not using it to gain a unfair advantage over anyone. If you were to say mod a online multiplayer game such as Halo or COD you would be banned until the year 9999 but because ME is singleplayer you're fine.

Want proof? There's a 137 page long thread dedicated to modding 360 game save fo ME2 on 360 and I personally started messing about with my files a few days and I'm sitting here connected to xbox live through it on my 360.

O rilly?
