Hi everybody.
I'm experiencing a problem with sustained talents: they systematicallly turn off every few seconds.
I play a mage Hawke who happens to constantly use three sustained modes: Rock Armor, Elemental Weapons and Blood Magic. I had no trouble having the three of them "always on" up till the end of Act II, when the Qunari try to take over the city.
Since then, these three talents keep turning off every few seconds, it only happen to Hawke, not to the NPCs. Why? Is it a known bug? Could a change in my equipment be the cause (not likely: I don't think I changed anything since the middle of Act II where I played Legacy)?
Has anyone else encountered the problem?

Its becouse of the mage set bonus, who makes you invisible, which turns your sustaines off...
...I think. =/

I have not encountered that or heard of it happening. I can't think of what would cause it, other than screwed up Tactics. Tactics only come into effect during combat, though.

My guess is you have a piece of equipment on with the Stealth on Hit property. It has been known to do this to mage modals.

Thanks for the replies.
Here's my stuff:
*Full regalia of weisshaupt (Cowl, gloves, robes and footwraps of the silent one)
* The Hawke's Key (added powers: bonus to electricity damage, speed reduction, health stealing)
* Belt of the Hawke
* jewelry: probably innocent (I've had them for a long time) : Dull Brass Amulet, Ring of resilience, the Fallen Star
as for my tactics they are extremely simple and straightforward: I mainly use direct control on Hawke, so tactics are only here for him to stand by himself a few seconds while I'm busy directing a companion.
1: self any: summon mabari
2: self any: activate elemental weapons
3: self any: activate rock armor
4: self any: activate blood magic
5: ennemy any: stonefist
6: ennemy any: chain lightning
7: ennemy elite+ : petrify
8: ennemy clustered 3+ : tempest
my abilities:
* everything in primal
* in arcane: only elemental weapons
* everything in blood magic except blood slave and its bonus (blood splatter)
* in force mage: fist of the maker (with bonuses), telekinetic burst (with bonus) and gravity ring (without bonus)
Thanks again to you all.

Yes, the Mage set bonus is stealth on hit chance. 'of the Silent One' is the Regalia of Weisshaupt set for Mages.

Alright but why isn't this appearing in-game? The item set bonus that is stated is a +10% bonus to several forms of damage and a +2 bonus to magic.
Edit: besides, I just saw it happening now while I wasn't attacking (therefore not hitting) and I never saw my mage turn invisible. Are you sure it is really invisibility-related although it doesn't appear in-game at all?

Mage armor set bonus has nothing to do with this issue. Mage chestpiece (Robe of the Silent One), however, has a property where your mage has a chance to drop in stealth (+x% chance to stealth when hit), whenever he gets hit. And droping in stealth is what causes the issue with sustains.

Ok, I understand, when you said "on hit" I thought it was "when I hit" not "When I AM hit" and I thought it was the item set bonus while it is in fact attached to the robe only.
Still I can't understand how I failed to see my robes were providing me this capacity when Cervin told me to look after it. This is confirmation of the hypothesis "I'm a moron" sorry and thanks again to you all for helping me out !

I'm glad you brought it up--I had the trouble too.
What I wonder is why this is an issue at all? Why should dropping into stealth mode cancel all the sustained modes? Is it a bug?
