There actually should be multiple threads about this.  One discussing the details in the magazine (this one), another about the announcement itself and what it means, and finally a third about the complaints.

This is probably the biggest announcement about the game since the Reaper reveal.

If there is multiplayer I wouldn't judge it before actually knowing anything about it. I doubt they would throw in a deathmatch, considering Casey has been talking about a multiplayer experience that would make sense in the ME series. Deathmatch doesn't require much thought.

I think Casey said they couldn't find a way to fit multiplayer into Mass Effect 3. If it is real, my guess would be it'll be a spin off/seperate game. Which would be acceptable in my books.

Has anyone attempted to find and read this magazine before anyone started calling for someone to blow up Bioware/EA? A whole lot of you are overreacting over this, it could be a confirmation of a new MP only ME, confirmation that it is not in, or even them just talking about their own thoughts.

We are yet to see an actual quote from ANY developer actually from BioWare, confirming it. So relax. If they do confirm it however i think i'll go listen to Hitler say Nein for aslong as it takes my ears to start bleeding or for it to go away.....

It's a UK XBox magazine which has apparently been out since Thursday (so I'm a bit surprised that this hasn't cropped up till now).  It's 01:21 here and unless anything gets confirmed on the forums, I'll grab a copy in the morning.  I'm gonna be going out shopping around 9am anyway

Not only does MP detract from time put into SP, but it also means that future DLCs have to be dedicated -- not to furthering the story, but making maps and tools for the online!

What a ****ing surprise! If mass effect 3 ends up being another dragon age 2 then I will end up strangling something cute. Really bioware?! Your that desperate for new fans that had to have multiplayer?! Pointless, why bother?!

I live in Pittsburgh right now, and they're filming stuff for the Dark Knight rises. I don't want to spend potential viewing time here, which I know would happen.

Simply, it's not yours. Bioware decided to change the direction of the IP. Good or bad the decison was, they have every right to change their IP if they want.

well, that got ugly quick.

bioware sure as hell made me feel like it was my game when i played ME1. i really have no idea who that guy on the cover of the games is supposed to be. he doesnt look familiar to my Mass Effect.
