Well we already know there will most likely be a Mass Effect game based after Mass Effect 3, cant they save Multiplayer for the next ME game and not Shepards final part?

You don't seem to see the contradiction: EA has owned 'em since 2007.  Why didn't they just make them do it years ago?  Why would they, if they are as you've characterized them, give a crap if Casey didn't think MP was ready to go or a non-ideal fit?  No concern for game quality, right?  Just want the cash, right? And Casey certainly ain't the boss of them.  So what was it holding them at bay for all this time then?

Actually,  that's an easy one.

EA discovered that they can lock out multiplayer for used games,  and force you to pay them on top of the used copy to access multiplayer.  Now,  they're going to put multiplayer in *everything*,  no matter how little sense it makes,  in order to implement a Used-game-DRM and get money out of the used game market.

It took them this long because EA didn't have a reason to force it until mid 2010 when they picked their new direction.

I'll guarantee you there'll also be "Mandatory pre-launch DLC" if you want to access everything on the disc you paid for too,  just like they did to Dead Space 2.

EA's now directionless,  they're jumping on every possible marketing fad they can find,  to me it's a strong indicator of severe weakness they haven't shown the market yet.  Facebook,  subscription based sports series,  kinect,  their own digital delivery system only for them that doesn't offer a reason to use it.  EA's just grabbing at straws.

Which is why I'm now firmly convinced DA2's going to look like a perfect launch compared to what'll happen here when the game comes out and it's suffered for the suit-mandated features.

Hundred's of sources? We have one source that ambiguously answers questions about multiplayer.

If Bioware wanted to, they could've come in here and say "That magazine is wrong. ME3 wil not feature multiplayer". But they don't, and to me, that's a bad sign.

It's between 1:30-4:30a.m. for Bioware.

It's fairly unreasonable to assume they're still up and patrolling the forums.

Well this is just the Table of Contents and Ad pages from what is being passed around on another forum I can speak for the legitimacy of the pics other than nothing looks shopped.  Hope it's ok to post links to just the TOC and ad for next month. Nothing interesting in the mag itself, nothing about MP.  If it's a fake mockup it's a pretty good one

EDIT: Apparently it's the wrong one, while I don't see the point of getting grumpy over a TOC and an ad no point getting banned for posting em right?

So, still no confirmation? Anyways, I'm not a fan of tacked on deathmatch-like multiplayer just to please the CoD crowd, but if it's some form of coop, I'm not too worried about it and it actually could be kind of interesting.

All I know is if there is co-op it better be for 3 players. Because that is the size of a squad in the ME universe goshdarnit!

According to various sources, there will be a batch of 3 player co-op missions that run parallel to the main story, with each player assuming the role of a single squad mate. It seems likely that this will happen, and it'll form part of EA's Online Pass system. However devs have been known to ditch MP during development in the past, if it doesn't work..."

So they just quoted the usual rumours and put the word 'multiplayer' on the cover.
