1) Bioware posted a job opening for MP dev over a year ago;
2) Bioware decline to flatly state that MP won't be coming to Mass Effect 3;
3) Intuition gained from about 20 years as a gamer, reading, interpreting, and observing the results of dev-speak.

That's my case in three brief sentences.

Actually, your point 2.) is, if only, assuring massive media coverage and hype-building, which is why, even if they do not have MP, just the thing BioWare wants.

And if that article based its headline on the already pre-existing rumours, I remain deprived of conclusive data I could discuss on.

The new levels are, if rumor is to be believed (and we do!) new creations.

You heard it here first!

In other words, it's just a hunch... sometimes a hunch pays off, sometimes it doesn't...

The thing that we need though is... just the facts ma'am

That's it, am calling Dragnet on this case... we need Detective Friday to work this out.

Yes, of course. I never said my position was ironclad, and I'll be the first to admit I could be wrong.

I could be wrong.

I don't think I am.

Chill dude, I was just joking with you and I agree with what your saying anyway ;)

1) Yes, but it did not say anyting about it to be related ME3 and it was just one among many requirements, it could be even about they next game too.

Well, it did say "Mass Effect Franchise", and this was toward the beginning of ME3's development:

Yes, but it's still assumption that it's connected to ME3. ME3 development was started before they even started looking developers with MP abilities. They could allready try to hire people with MP abilities for they next Mass Effect franchise game after ME3. It makes as much sense than ME3 situation. Mostly because they have many times sayed ME3 is Shepards last game in story, but not end of Mass Effect games.

I don't actually mind multiplayer, as long as the solo mode is perfectly free of co-op. Don't force us to do multiplayer in order to enjoy the story, that's all I ask.

Which if anything is the one thing Casey has stated, countless times whenever the MP question has been asked at him recently... that they intend to make ME3 the best SP experience that they can.

If MP is in ME3, as others have pointed out, most likely it'll break down into this...

No matter how it's spun, the method of splitting the two development teams still gives the impression that one half is half-assed at the cost of the more desirable area. For example, Medal of Honor 2010 is mediocre as ****, despite DICE being responsible for the multiplayer while Danger Close was responsible for the campaign. A separate development team was made for BioShock 2's multiplayer, where less than 1% of the gamer population bothered playing it. How many people are actually playing Dead Space 2's multiplayer now?

Just bought the mag and there is one tiny paragraph that says: "Well, if you believe the rumours - which we certainly do - ME3 will have MP. According to various sources, there will be a batch of 3 player co-op missions that run parallel to the main story, with each player assuming the role of a single squad mate. It seems likely that this will happen, and it'll form part of EA's Online Pass system. However devs have been known to ditch MP during development in the past, if it doesn't work..."

So they just quoted the usual rumours and put the word 'multiplayer' on the cover.

:-/

Gonna get on with the rest of my shopping.

Totally called it on page 2.

Anyway, was there anything else interesting about ME3 in the mag?

Also, although I may be straying off-topic here, did they review Deus Ex?

So companies should just think... oh look what happened in the past, let's not bother trying to do something as it'll obviously suck.

If every company/person had that mentality then we'd still be in the dark ages. :wizard:<_<

Was there any new levels or were they based on rumors too? Also they called Bioshock Infinite the biggest game of 2012 but two of the"headlines" are games out in 2012. Weird logic.
If they reviewed Deus Ex hopefully it got a good score.

Well I'm not too fussed about the inclusion of multiplayer, the only thing that would bother me about it would be if those who didn't utilize it were to miss out on content.

Don't foget lack of polish to the single player game because that time must then be spent on creating multiplayer. That's the only reason I don't want multiplayer. If it's released later in a DLC or created by a different team then I don't care, I simply won't play it, but I don't want my single player experience to be less good than it could be just because damn EA wants to put multiplayer in for the pure shooter fans...

Wouldn't imagine it will be until after the weekend at the earliest.

Suprised scans aren't up with the mag though.

I say it like that, because of me they can do it three months later than the multiplayer DLC late filing, because if it already had a multiplayer, and the Story not yet true, could give the fans blame Bioware due to the MP would been the single player neglected

New Info from Gamepro Germany

A little later, reported the British video game journalist Alex Donaldson on short message service Twitter to word. 'Now the cat is out of the bag [The Mass Effect 3 multiplayer] will be unveiled at the gamescom and will be shown in September on two British traders Shows ".

Co-operative multiplayer would be okay.... And could be seen as in interesting side for DLC, but competitive multiplayer I think would take a lot away from the ME experience.

Granted that is a concern, but that would also depend on how the budget for the games development has been allocated, no multiplayer could have seen a correspondingly reduced budget.
