^Well, that's acceptable.

Plus it must be free DLC.
I so do not want to be left out in first Mass Effect related multiplayer game.

Free DLC & EA.

Those words do not compute.

It's not DLC. It's a feature included with the game that people who don't have the game brand-new have to pay for. Big difference.

If Bioware have plans to announce MP wouldn't it make more sense too, you know, wait until one of the larger gaming conventions such as Gamescom rather than an obscure magazine?

Besides, Casey pretty much gave as solid of a answer he could at CC, which sounded like a resounding no in my opinion.

But if you bought the game new, you didn't have to pay for stuff like Normandy crash site, Cerberus armor etc. The Cerberus network came FREE with a new copy of ME2. Sounds pretty 'free'-ish to me.

It's probably safe to say if they don't announce multiplayer by November/October, then it's not there.

A bit off-topic, but when it was revealed that Prey 2 (A sci-fi game too) would be a singleplayer-only, the devs justified the decision by stating, that if you can´t make a multiplayer, just as good as a one offered by Call Of Duty, then there´s no mind in making one.
Also, look at recent games like Fallout: New Vegas and L.A. Noire: Both games are singleplayer-only and have sold millions of copies worldwide. Look back a few years and at games like Fallout 3, both Dragon Ages and heck, even the first two Mass Effects! All of those games have sold their publishers happy enough to have gotten a sequel. And all have been SP-only.
... ...No multiplayer for Mass Effect 3 Bioware! Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

From the first article:

[...]between now and March 31st and again between July 1st and December 31st, each 14-, 16-,[...]

So yeah, in the end there maybe was free DLC, but it was for limited time. Other articles are from the 10$ pollicy. You know, like Cerberus network.

So yeah, matches were found in the end, but I don't know of any permenetly free EA DLC. Especially one that came free and has always been free -not turned after X months after it was released.

Plus it was just a joke. :P

I don't see it that way. If some people have to pay for it, it's not free. I consider that as bonus DLC included with the brand-new game. Pretty much like what CE normally have, only with a Standard edition in this case.

Things like Collector amor, Cerberus armor etc were bonus DLC for preorders and special editions.

As much as I loathe multiplayer, at this point all I feel like doing is sitting back and watching the boards go up in flames. *grabs popcorn*

Yes! This is exactly how I'd feel if multiplayer were officially confirmed by BioWare. The scene also reminds me to watch the movies again.

The problem is if you don't have the Cerberus network, which is what I was saying, you can't download them. So they're not "free". Free to some people isn't "free". It enters in the definiton of free, but it's not free to everyone. It's more like a bonus /reward for buying the game brand-new. Like special codes you get for other games, etc.

And enough offtopic.

I'm sure if EA releases multiplayer as DLC it won't be free.

Alright, calm down everyone. According to earlier reports, it's not PvP multiplayer like COD, it's co-op being made by a separate studio, the ones who made Arrival, so there is no issue of taking away resources from multiplayer. In fact, it sounds a lot like Uncharted 2's co-op, which, as anyone who has played that game can tell you, was awesome and didn't take away from its singleplayer mode.
