Sheesh. Is the third and final iteration in a SP based trilogy really the best place to introduce multiplayer?
Why not? It's the best place for new players to come into the trilogy, after all.
Anyway....not confirmed. Just a mag hyping itself with sensationalized cover text for an article full of rumor regurgitation.

I thought it meant that new players would find the game incredibly accessible and smooth. It would stack up to their expectations from Uncharted, and Gears of War in terms of cinematic moments. It would offer game play they were comfortable with.
Now I think it means the above + multiplayer, which is great for attracting friends over LIVE -- *cries*

OK. What I figured. Seriously, that's really rather, well, paranoid. They were obviously talking about how the intro on Earth is set up to accomodate new players and bring them up to speed. How you extrapolate multiplayer from that....I don't know.

Now would probably be a good time for you to notice how quickly they responded to all of the other magazine/interview quotes that were inaccurate, generally didn't take much beyond page 2 for them to respond.
Tell you what: I'll start if you can provide some examples. I haven't particularly noticed them doing that, so what else would you expect my reaction to be? If you can show me otherwise, great. I'll change my tune.
I'd just like to take a moment to point out that they closed the other thread by page 3 on a Saturday, but still no comment denying it in the thread they're linking to.

PARANOIA
This forum is full of it, sometimes it's fun to watch, but there are times where it's reaches the ridiculous...
Specially when some people go crazy for some rumours wich come from "a secret source that only my friend's brother knows and he told me".

Not to mention if I deny it, no one believes me anyways. So I'm just letting this run until the magazine comes out and you see what they actually say.

I'll wait for more people to verify this. Not the first time I have fallen for a headline:
Headline - "Is hot Actrees naked inside?"
Article - "No, but we wish she was".
Etc.

It's already out, Chris. Aaaaaaaaand it was an article about how they believe the already-existing MP rumors are true:
Ruud333 wrote...
Just bought the mag and there is one tiny paragraph that says: "Well, if you believe the rumours - which we certainly do - ME3 will have MP. According to various sources, there will be a batch of 3 player co-op missions that run parallel to the main story, with each player assuming the role of a single squad mate. It seems likely that this will happen, and it'll form part of EA's Online Pass system. However devs have been known to ditch MP during development in the past, if it doesn't work..."
So they just quoted the usual rumours and put the word 'multiplayer' on the cover.
:-/
Gonna get on with the rest of my shopping.

They've been wrong many times - AND - it's no confirmation, it could be a question asked about MP, this is just hypothetical response, "we're testing MP capabilities, for example, a few co-op side missions for 3 players running parallel with the main story" ... Casey has clearly stated in interviews so far that ME is story/character driven first, and the single-player story is the main focus, and MP is not that. Nor has he denied it's possibility. They had tried MP for ME1 and ME2, no doubt they've gone and tried for ME3 too in various ways, doesn't mean MP will actually be in the released final product. There's still no SOLID, YES - MP will be in ME3 for sure statement. It just sounds like they're still testing things out for the possibility.

Now that's a very odd thing to say Mr. Priestly.
Why would you not comment if a magazine was making false reports? It costs you nothing, but letting it go if it were false costs you an enourmous amount of problems. Many people would believe you, myself included, if someone from Bioware would definitively answer that question. All that's been given so far is vague and essentially dodges the question.
But, OTOH, commenting prior to the official announcement might be a problem for you, without dept heads signing off on it.
I'll wait for more people to verify this. Not the first time I have fallen for a headline:
Headline - "Is hot Actrees naked inside?"
Article - "No, but we wish she was".
Etc.
Now why would you "Fall for a headline"? You work at Bioware, you already know the answer. There's nothing for you to fall for.
Honestly, your posts really read as indirect confirmation. You wouldn't need to wait if the answer was a denial, it's very possible you would need to wait if it was an affirmation.
I mean, if we asked "Is it true that ME3 will include a First-Person Perspective", or "Is it true that ME3 will include a turn-based mode", you'd be perfectly able to say "No", and given your past posts such as the ones relating to porting vs designing for a platform, I see no reason you wouldn't.
So why is it that you're not commenting now?

Well, it did say "Mass Effect Franchise", and this was toward the beginning of ME3's development:

Yes, but it's still assumption that it's connected to ME3. ME3 development was started before they even started looking developers with MP abilities. They could allready try to hire people with MP abilities for they next Mass Effect franchise game after ME3. It makes as much sense than ME3 situation. Mostly because they have many times sayed ME3 is Shepards last game in story, but not end of Mass Effect games.Rekkampum wrote...

1. Not knowing them self the answer.
2. They consider information release bad for advertising the game.
