Let me clarify what I mean by "free"

I mean free as in everyone that plays the game will receive it with no additional service, requirements, or money needed. 

I'll give you the PS3 version, but in a business sense, it made sense to give it all away in one nice package seeing as how EA couldn't sell ME to the PS3 owners. Call it concessions. :innocent:

It's been more than several hours since we found this magazine and no one from Bioware has denied it! AAAAAAAHHHHH!

Let's hope this multiplayer-talk is just about any possible future ME titles. I tought Casey Hudson already pointed out ME3 is going to be singleplayer-only

No, they didn't have access to firepower, aegis, and both AAPs.

I don't see it that way. If some people have to pay for it, it's not free. I consider that as bonus DLC included with the brand-new game. Pretty much like what CE normally have, only with a Standard edition in this case.

Things like Collector amor, Cerberus armor etc were bonus DLC for preorders and special editions.

So they're not "free". Free to some people isn't "free". It enters in the definiton of free, but it's not free to everyone. It's more like a bonus /reward for buying the game brand-new. Like special codes you get for other games, etc.

It's not "universally free" if some people have to pay for it. Period.

This wouldn't be the first time a magazine invented features for a game to paste on their cover in order to drive sales.

That said, it's hilarious that I was threatened with a ban for pointing out on multiple occasions that Bioware continually dodge this issue rather than declaratively and unambiguously state Mass Effect 3 will not have multiplayer, and multiplayer is not in development for Mass Effect 3. And now this. 

Can't wait to download the scans!

Yes, those DLC might be free, if you have active Cerberus Network. But if you don't have that, you would need to buy it, which would cost 1200 points.

Anyway other free dlc are Zaeed- The Price of revenge, Cerberus weapon and armor and Art Projector.

Looks like multi-player may very well be coming to Mass Effect 3.

I did a quick google search for "mass effect 3 multiplayer" and the first 3 results talk about rumours from a 'source' who says it's happening.

Third Result

The rumours are that there will be co-op missions and also a horde mode, both will apparently have no effect on the single player experiance.

Or you won't play Shepard, you'll just play some other character. Maybe customizable by race and appearance?

That is, if this is even true. Which I'm not willing to believe until I see something official. They're probably just repeating the old rumors with nothing to back it up.

EDIT: I'm not going to believe anything until BW takes a step and says: Mass Effect 3 will include multiplayer.

That's all i'm saying. All the magazines supposedly saying they have sources are liars.

How much you wanna bet the MP will be on Earth? It's supposedly the battles that will be happening after we leave Earth in the SP game. I doubt we'll be using our Shepards. It'll be a selection of the classes, but generic characters to pick from.

- I see this thread being locked without so much as a peep from BioWare.

yea it just doesnt seem mass effectish to me, the whole series is based on shepard...it doesnt really matter, nothing is confirmed until the first box ships

Of course it is. But it's all fueled by Bioware's unwillingness to definitively kill the rumor for good. They always respond with a non-answer when asked if ME3 will have a MP mode, like "we're going to deliver an awesome single player experience!" 

Which is not an answer to the question. And you must wonder why they won't say no.

This. If Bioware honestly wants these threads to end, they could simply say "No multiplayer in Mass Effect 3". It's not a difficult thing to do, if it's true.
