So I've had this issue for ages but I've never  really been bothered by it up but itsbeen getting on my nerves now. I'm far enough into the game that reloading to an earlier save is not really an option (though I'm close to completion so on my second playthrough I'll keep an eye out for it).

What happens is my sniper rifle and my heavy weapon have converged onto the center of  Shephard's back. To the point where the sniper rifle is mid left and the heavy weapon mid right. They "overlap" one another. They don't inhabit the areas they should as evident on the backs of other characters.

Here are is my system info:
Running Mass Effect 2 on Steam
2.0 Ghz Quardcore (Q9000)
Windows Vista 64 Bit
nVidia GT 130M Geforce

Just checked my earliest save back on freedoms progress and the bug persists there also.

Start a new game. If it goes away, its a save file corruption, and not much can be done to fix that particular set of saves.
If it persists, its a game file corruption. Verify your Steam cache integrity or perform a comlpete reinstall.
