That's just me though.

Well, at least the changelings were evil not just for the sake of being evil. But I still don't dig the idea of introducing a quite plot-wise important character like Twilight's brother in the season's finale without any forshadowing (probably a Mass Effect 3 syndrome). As much as I understand Hasbro's desire to sell some Cadance toys, thus giving her wings and a horn.

On the other hand, songs are the main reason I watch the show and the finale had 3 of them.

Well, with all the pink Celestia toys, why not introduce a new pink alicorn to take her place on the toy line and then release accurate white Celestia toys?

I was about to say the same thing about BBBFF. I like Love is in Bloom, though.

tbh, I didn't dig the Love's in Bloom and BBBFF too much either. Now I kinda like them more, after listening to them several times. I'm quite a disney songs fan, and This Day Aria blew my mind as the "main dish" of the episode. As the whole Cadance/Chrysalis situation is similair to Ariel/Ursula plot in Disney's Little mermaid, I immediately thought that a similair song to the Aria would fit in the LM. If Ariel had the ability to speak.

I don't like the season 3 songs at the moment. I really hope there will be an episode with season's 3 equivalent of Winter Wrap Up or Smile.

Well, my niece has a pink Celestia and she likes it. But after all, she is 4 and a half, so she doesn't yet realise that she is not the target group of the show and that ponies are f***ing serious business. /sarcasm

Okay, I'm not a fan of the Crystal Ponies song either, but The Failure Song? You didn't like it? Must be sad to be you.

Remember that Smile and Winter Wrap Up have a key difference: they were made as songs through and through, while Success/Failure is a much quicker plot explanation turned song.

Actually, it's quite awesome.

Remember that Smile and Winter Wrap Up have a key difference: they were made as songs through and through, while Success/Failure is a much quicker plot explanation turned song.

okay, to end the topic, I'm not saying the song is bad, it's just it doesn't do the job as well as the other songs do. It's very light on the melody, and I'm not a particular fan of Spike's VA. BBBFF has a similair purpose and length, and I find it better. Becoming Popular is short too. So is Perfect Stallion.

I don't know, it's just like both revealed season 3 songs are underwhelming. They're fine, but I know they can do much better (and they will)
