I thought they transformed into common road vehicles, not a rare jet that would be of more use (to me anyway) that the giant robot.

He's actually an F-22 now, or at least he is as of the movies. I haven't watched too much of the new series on the Hub so I can't say what he turns into there.

They always try to stay loyal to the competitors so yeah, Starscream will turn into an F-15.

Hope Dash can still beat him in his vehicle form.
