Anyway, how much of you think that the test (watching paint dry) was an allusion to the quite popular (in the fanbase) fanfic? I think chances are pretty slim, but again, Dave Polsky had quite a break from writing for FiM.

Don't Worry King Sombra, all you need to compete as a successful villain is a menacing presence and possibly a blood curdling laugh. Being able to say more words then "My crystal slaves" , "Crystal Heart" ete is a bonus.

The Bubbleization of the Pinkie clones gave me severe Rayman Origins feelings.

I saw the episode, and I get a vibe from it overall that's similar to daring-do: It's a clever premise that's executed fairly well, though I think they can do better. Narratively, there's nothing particularly interesting. It comes off as an excuse to see countless pinkie pies making all sorts of problems, which is tantamount to multiplying Spongebob by 30.

I would range the quality of the episode between 7 and 8. It's alright.

Hurricane Fluttershy was overall a significantly better episode than Reading Rainbow and Too Many Pinkie Pie's. Similar to the previous 2, you can see where it's going... but the distinct difference to me is that it's more about the journey than the destination. You'll end up rooting for her by the end of the episode, if they've done their jobs right. Yes, it's nice that rainbow dash wants to start reading, but by the end of H. Fluttershy, the fate of launching that water is due to fluttershy herself, alongside all the other pegasi. It doesn't hurt that it also has a memorable and fairly badass montage.

With too many pinkie pie's, it's just...there. There's no reason for me personally to care about the story or the characters beyond what's in anything else from the MLP:FiM episodic library. It's an amusing episode, but it doesn't feel particularly meaningful.

I would concur that Read 'Em and Weep had a fairly simplistic plot that you could tell in advance the arc of, but much the same way as with Hurricane Fluttershy, I think they executed it so well and packed it so full of fun elements that it balances that out. 

This is more than likely due to my own biases, but contrary to that, TMPP didn't have nearly the same number of memorable moments.

No, I was referring to Hurricane Fluttershy above too. But yes, Read 'Em and Weep was a fuel tanker for TwiDash too. 

That last half of the season, man ... they sent those two naval vessels into overdrive.

I was thinking of how could Bioware make people angry with their choice on a Grey Warden for the team in Dragon Age 3. Ponies seem to make people angry.
