Remember when I posted how EVO, the most prestigious fighting game community event in the world started a donation drive (the winners money all goes towards the Breast Cancer Research Foundation) to decide what game was going to fill the 8th and final slot for the main set of games to have a world tourney? I told you that Fighting is Magic was an entrant, and well...



Needless to say we bronies go to a charity drive like a flaming chainsaw to a tree soaked in turpentine and this is no exception. BUT, apparently the EVO runners put FiM up there without telling the Mane6 devteam, and since the game isn't even ready for the public yet both groups decided it would be best for FiM to stand down and maintain an area at the indie games showcase like last year, but with a much bigger prescence.

HOWEVER, it will continue to be a part of the charity drive. Provided it stays at the top until the end It will get its own special exhibition tournament seperate from the main 8 games. Should an event occur, the entrant in second place (in this case SSB Melee) will be granted the 8th slot.

Personally I think this was a very smart idea where everyone is happy. If FiM won like it was originally going to it would have been a disaster. The devs would be forced into an artificial deadline, making the game rushed and it'd be new to the scene so there would be hardly any players. Maybe next year? (If FiM isn't done by THEN I will actually call BS on Mane6's part considering at the very least they only have two characters left to do real work on.)

This is also great for the Smash community which I'm a part of, as the fandom has been desperately been trying to be taken seriously by the competitive scene for over 6 years now. Saying that though, I've heard some rumours that a group of Smash Bros fanatics were actually planning some uncouth ways to take advantage of the donation drive to propel themselves forward past FiM before news of its step down came. Apparently the Fighting Game Community went to Smashboards and called the people there scum for even insinuating the plan.

 Regardless, it's no less crazy than Discord possibly being turned into a good guy in the next episode, (and people are excited about that when they dread this? Not that I'm not looking forward to KCaFo, far from it) or introducing a third alicorn in the form of Cadance, oh and Twilight suddenly having a brother out of nowhere.

Anyway, the two behind Loyalty, the number 3 brony song of 2012, Mandopony and AcousticBrony a year later have released Kindness, and they're going to be making songs like these for all the Mane cast.
